Seeking Advice on Repairing Massage Seat in 2021 Renault Arkana Hybrid

Massage seat without function

Hi folks, I'm hoping for some insight on an issue with my 2021 Renault Arkana (Hybrid engine, around 71377 km on it). My massage seat has suddenly stopped working and I suspect it could be a problem with the seat switch. Anyone faced something similar and could advise what that repair might involve? Last time I dealt with a mechanic, it wasn't the best experience so I'm hoping to get a better handle on what I might be looking at before I take it in. Would appreciate hearing your experiences and any tips on dealing with this issue! Cheers!

Hey there, I reckon I have some experience to share. I own a 2018 Renault Kadjar, pretty much the same setup, had around 65000 km on it when I started having issues with my heated seats. My prob wasn't complicated, turned out it was a defective cable connection/plug under the seat. There's the chance it's the same thing with your massage seat. My mechanic said it wasn't a massive deal, just a bit tedious as they had to remove the seat, carefully check the electrical system until they finally pinpointed the cable. I guess it's the sort of issue that occurs with wear and tear in the car electrical system, especially having all these seat perks (heated, massage, etc.). So, based on my experience, they might need to remove your seat, look at the entire circuit, redo some connections perhaps, and then plug it back in. It's a bit time-consuming, but definitely not a nightmare! Remember to ask them to carefully check every connection just to make sure the rest of the system is okay. Hope this helps you out! Cheers!

Hey there, Thanks a ton for sharing your experience with the Renault Kadjar, it's actually soothing to hear that it's not something massive! It's just the thought about them taking the seat out gives me a bit of a worry. The way you explained it definitely makes it less daunting though. Would you happen to remember roughly how much that repair cost you? And have there been any other issues related to the seats since that repair? Cheers!

Hey, No problem at all, happy to help! Regarding the cost of that fix, it set me back about 95€ - mostly for the labor since it took up some time to locate the defective cable connection. Not too heavy on the pocket thankfully. As for your question on whether there were any other issues since then... Good news there! Ever since my mechanic fixed the cable, everything's been smooth sailing. Your question actually made me think of my massage seat, which also had a defective switch. Ran into that problem a while back but had it sorted and it's been working tickety-boo ever since. Hope this settles your worries a bit! Remember, cars can sometimes throw a curveball, but there's nearly always a fix. Good luck with your Renault Arkana! Cheers!

Hey, I really appreciate you taking the time to reply. Your breakdown of the repair process and the costs involved has definitely put me at a bit more ease. Hearing that your heated and massage seats have been working fine since the repairs is encouraging – here's hoping I'll have the same luck. I guess it's time for me to find a reliable mechanic and get my Renault Arkana's massage seat checked out. Thanks a bunch for all the help and fingers crossed, my experience will turn out as good as yours! Cheers!
