Hey, appreciate the quick response! Your ordeal sounds so similar to mine. Glad that you got yours sorted out, gives me a bit of hope for my Arkana. Do you recall the dent this repair made in your wallet? It sounds like a big job, just want to brace myself. Has anything popped up since the fix or has it been smooth sailing? Cheers!
Hey, glad I could provide you some comfort, I know it's tough when your ride is acting up. As for the cost, it set me back 365€ to get that cable connection to the ignition coil sorted out. It was a pretty big job indeed, especially because it's such a key component. However, it was definitely worth every penny, knowing my baby was back in shape and I didn't have to deal with that pesky black smoke issue anymore. Now since the fix, it's been absolutely smooth sailing. The shaky idling? Gone. The annoying engine light on my dashboard? Finally stopped blinking. The most important part, the ignition coil, it's working flawlessly, no misfires or anything of that sort. So fingers crossed your experience will be just as positive. Let me know how it goes for you. Take care!
Hey, thanks for the heads up. €365 is a fair bit, but by the sounds of things, it's worth every cent to get my Arkana back on track. I'm super relieved to hear that everything turned out so well for you and your Megane, especially with the blissful elimination of that black smoke and that blinking engine light. That gives me hope! I'll get my car off to the garage first thing tomorrow and keep my fingers crossed. I'll let you know how it pans out. Thanks again for the advice! Catch ya later.
Hey there, I totally understand your frustration. I own a 2020 Renault Megane, and I experienced similar symptoms like that shaky idling and poor mileage of yours. I mean, the blinking engine, the car's refusal to start, pretty much nailed it all. In my case, the culprit was indeed a defective cable connection to the ignition coil. Sounds like it could be the same deal for your Arkana. This was definitely not a minor issue and it needed immediate fixing to prevent further damage. Luckily, the guys at my garage managed to pin the problem quite quickly. They had that cable connection replaced, got my ignition coil working right and my car was good as new afterward. I must say, it was a relief to not see black smoke every time I pressed the pedal. So, don't stall. Get that checked as soon as possible. Hope your experience with the garage turns out better this time. Good luck!
