Seeking Advice on Recurring Low Tire Pressure Issue in 2023 Seat Tarraco Despite Proper Inflation

Tire pressure to low

Hey folks, I've got a weird issue on my 2023 Seat Tarraco with a Gasoline engine. Lately, it keeps showing the tire pressure too low, despite the tires being properly inflated. I'm suspecting a hitch with the tire pressure monitoring system but not entirely sure. Anyone had something similar? How did you and your mechanic diagnose and fix this? Any advice would be appreciated. Cheers!

Hey there, Interesting coincidence, I had a similar hitch on my 2021 Seat Ateca, oddly enough, also a Gas model. I'd say I have a fair bit of car experience, for sure not a mechanic, but enough to get my hands dirty. I ran off to my local garage as my car kept beeping about the tire pressure too. Turned out, it wasn't the pressure really, the tire pressure monitoring system antennas were defective. They've had to replace them and I ended up shelling out about 255 Euro for it. However, can you provide your vehicle's mileage and when was the last time you've had your TPMS checked? That would help me to give you a more detailed suggestion. Cheers!

Thanks for sharing your experience. My Tarraco has run just about 57171 KM. As for the TPMS, I'm not exactly sure when it was last checked, must have been during the latest service. I didn't exactly have any problems with it before so didn't pay much attention to it, you know. Guess I'll make a trip to the local garage and see what they've got to say about it. Thanks again for the help, really appreciate it!

Hey, no worries, happy to help! Yeah, sounds like a good plan. Given your car's mileage, I wouldn't rule out some wear and tear on the TPMS. In my case, the TPMS issues started to manifest around 60,000 KM. And if the last check happened during your latest service without any particular attention to it, there's a chance something got overlooked. Make sure they not only check the sensors in the tires but also the TPMS antennas like they did with my Ateca. They are usually the first ones to go. Do keep me posted about what they find. Always good to know if it was a similar issue. Safe driving!

You're a legend! Just had a word with my local garage guy and he seems to agree with your diagnosis. I've scheduled an appointment for next week and definitely specifying to check the TPMS antennas. I'll keep you posted on what they find. Thanks a ton for the advice and take care! Cheers to the next bump in the road!
