Seeking Advice on Recurring Low Tire Pressure Issue in '04 Lexus RX
Tire pressure to low

Hey there, Cheers for the quick response, and yeah, cars do love throwing us curveballs! Just to answer your question, besides the usual care, the only additional tweak that I've got on the RX is an aftermarket audio system. Nothing too crazy, so I don't reckon it would affect the sensor. Since last service at 12364 KM, I haven't changed anything else. As for the sensor issue, it does sound pretty relatable. I had initially brushed it off thinking it might just be a problem - guess I was wrong. I'll speak to my local workshop about it and see if they can replace the battery and recalibrate the sensor. Thanks a ton for your help! I greatly appreciate it! And yes, the lessons never stop with these machines, do they? Stay in touch!
No worries! Sometimes we do think these are minor issues but it's best to sort them out before they become BIG headaches. Given your RX model and from what I've experienced, it's a decent bet to start with the tire pressure sensor. Your aftermarket audio system shouldn't really interfere with your tire pressure sensors. And kudos for keeping track of your service mileage, most of us forget that. It's also a good practice to mention this to your workshop guys when you discuss the sensor issue, just so they know the overall health of your car. Keep me posted about what they say! I'll be keen to learn how you got your Lexus back on track. Cheers!
Hey! You hit the nail on the head - better sort it out before it blows up into something massive. I'm planning to drive down to the workshop tomorrow and I'll keep in mind to bring up the service mileage. Always helps to have a second pair of eyes look at these things. I'll definitely circle back with what the pros have to say. Thank you for all the advice! It feels nice to be part of a community that's willing to lend a hand when needed. Cheers, and will be in touch!
Hey there, I had a similar issue with my '06 Lexus ES not too long ago. In that case, the problem was indeed the tire pressure sensor. Don't take my word for gospel, as I'd say my car expertise is low, but willing to learn every day. After noticing the issue, I took my car into a local workshop that I trust. Their diagnostics identified the issue as a sensor battery running out of juice. It was a bit surprising since I hadn't expected that to be an issue, but cars cook up a surprise every now and then, don't they? The good blokes at the workshop replaced the battery and recalibrated the sensor for me, and the problem hasn't recurred since then. The bill rounded out to about 280€. By the way, does your RX have any other modifications or unique specs? That'll help give a more tailored answer. Don't hesitate to reach back if you've any more questions. Stay safe!
