Hey, thanks for the quick reply and the encouragement! I feel a little better knowing that you've been through something like this and that there is a solution. Do you happen to remember how much all that fun cost? And have you had any other unexpected problems since then? I'm hoping it's just the EGR valve and nothing more serious. I'd like to know as much as possible before I go to the garage to avoid any potential surprises. Thanks again!

Hey, no problem! I'm glad I could reassure you a bit. I remember it quite well because I was quite surprised by the price myself. I paid a total of €355 for the repair. That fixed the functional fault in the EGR valve, they replaced the valve completely. After that, my Skoda ran perfectly again, so it was worth every penny. Since then I have had no further unexpected problems, at least nothing that could be related to the EGR valve. But of course there's no guarantee that it will be the same for you. I'll keep my fingers crossed that it's just the EGR valve in your Superb and that you can drive again without any worries. A good mechanic can give you the best advice. Good luck!

That is so reassuring! 355 sounds quite acceptable if the car runs smoothly again afterwards. It really takes a load off my mind. I'm glad you didn't have any more unexpected problems afterwards and your experience definitely gives me more encouragement. I will make an appointment with my garage as soon as possible and hope that it is exactly the same case. Your tips and empathy have helped me a lot. I really appreciate your support and will let you know what happens. Thank you once again!

Hey, I had the same problem with my 2012 Skoda Octavia, also diesel. It was actually the EGR valve that was stuck and defective. It was a serious problem, the car ran totally out of round, exactly as you described. I had it fixed at the garage. They completely replaced the EGR valve. Since then the car has been running perfectly again, absolutely no comparison to before. So it may well be the same problem with your Superb. It's best to have it checked at a trustworthy garage. Good luck!
