Seeking Advice on Potential Camshaft Adjustment Issue in 2017 Fiat 124 Gasoline Engine

Hey, thanks for the response, really appreciate it! My Fiat's been through a good bit- serviced very recently, at the 56,217 KM mark. Parts-wise, nothing major changed... just the usual oil, filters, and liquids stuff. Just want to mention that while it's totally possible that you've got a similar solenoid valve problem like I did with my 500L, it's also worth considering that camshaft adjuster issue you initially suspected. That Metal shavings in the oil bit you mentioned? It's quite worrisome and could very well have a connection with a faulty camshaft adjustment. It would explain the jerking on acceleration, drop in power, unsteady engine operation, poor fuel economy, and the weird noise. A dodgy cam adjuster can wear out the engine components prematurely causing metal shavings and possibly the valve adjustment noise you're noticing. Cheers for all that insight! Your input was really helpful. I have to admit the metal shavings in the oil had me on edge, and it's looking more likely that the camshaft adjuster could be the culprit. I'm going to take it down to the local Fiat specialist and get to the bottom of this. I'll make sure they're focused on those camshaft and solenoid possibilities.
