Seeking Advice on Possible Overvoltage Issues in 2020 Seat Tarraco Diesel

Weak battery when starting the engine

|

Dim or flickering lights

Hey folks, I've been having a bit of trouble with my 2020 Seat Tarraco Diesel lately. When I try to start the engine, the battery seems weak and the lights are all dim or flickering. I'm suspecting some overvoltage issues, but I'm really not sure. Anyone out there who had a similar issue and can give me a hint about what might be going wrong? Also, I'd love to hear about your workshop experience and how you got this problem fixed. Any tips would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Hey, I reckon I can feel what you're going through! Had a similar issue with my 2018 Seat Leon not so long ago, probably it's something in the family, eh? For context, I'm pretty much an everyday Joe when it comes to cars, wouldn't say I'm an expert, but I know my way around some basics. Long story short, I ended up at a local workshop. The guys there figured it was a defective battery causing all the hullabaloo. I paid around 290 Euro to get it all sorted and things have been running smooth ever since. Anyway, that's just my two cents from my experience. Mind sharing a few more specifics about your Tarraco, like any abnormal sounds, and how long you've been seeing these issues? It'll help me give you a more detailed advice. Cheers!

Hey, Really appreciate the response and sharing your experience! Your two cents could very well be worth a million haha! Well, to spill some more beans about my Tarraco, the battery problem popped up around two weeks back. It's been driving me nuts ever since. It makes this odd humming sound when I try to start it and the headlights are all sorts of wonky. I kinda ignored it initially – thought it was the especially cool weather messing with my ride, y'know? Last service was done at around 70K Kilometers, by the way. Looks like I'll also have to make friends with a local mechanic soon. However, if anyone else has different insights or advice, I'll be all ears! Cheers for the help!

Hey, Glad my insights could be of some help, although not worth a million I bet! Sounds like your Tarraco is giving you quite the runaround alright. Your additional details really help to punch in a bit more context. That strange humming sound you mentioned coupled with the dimming headlights sure suggests a battery problem. Specially if you're at around 70K kilometers and you haven't gotten the battery replaced yet. An average car battery will only last around 4 to 5 years before it starts to lose its reliability. It's a pain and all, but I'd definitely second taking your car in to a local mechanic, and soon as you can. It's better to bear a smaller cost now than having to deal with a breakdown at some inconvenient time -- and believe me, breakdowns always happen at the worst times! Also, it's worth noting that this ain't much of a Seat-specific issue I'd say. Battery problems can happen to any car, any model, regardless of the manufacturer's worth. So, don't sweat it! Anyway, keep us posted on how it goes. Always good to share information for the benefit of all Tarraco owners. Cheers!

Hey, Thanks a ton for shedding some light! Definitely ain't feeling like a million bucks with this situation, but your advice sure holds that value for me right now! So, it seems like my Tarraco's battery has decided to check-out on me, and that's the villain causing all this drama. Right, will head out to my local mechanic first thing tomorrow. Hoping it's just the battery and nothing more serious. And absolutely, more than anything, can't risk those infuriating breakdowns! Really appreciate all the advice. I'll keep you all updated once I get my beloved Tarraco back on track. Here's to hoping that other Tarraco owners never have to deal with this headache, but if they do, our thread here might be of some use, eh? Cheers for all your help!

Let our mechanics help you!
