Hey there, Appreciate you sharing your experience, gives me a tad bit reassurance that I'm not the only one battling this issue with a Peugeot. To answer your question, my trusty 5008 has clocked 221,478 KM on the counter. A hefty run, I know! I serviced it recently, about 4000 KM back. No significant issues were raised then, just the usual oil change and filter replacements. However, the oil issue started way past that service, making me all the more confused. Thanks for the advice I might just check my oil pump too. Cheers!
Hey again, Yeah these quirky things can happen with cars, more so when they have a good few kilometers under the belt like yours. But don't worry, it's not an endgame yet, the old Pug still has some life left! Given that recent oil change, it could possibly be that the new oil doesn't have the correct viscosity for your high mileage engine or there may have been some incorrect assembly/faulty part involved in the filter replacement. Both situations could potentially cause the symptoms you're describing. However, since you mentioned the oil issue came up after the service, I highly advise getting it checked by a professional asap to avoid any further damage. If it turns out to be an oil pump issue like mine, cost shouldn't be astronomically different. If you can, do update us on what the actual culprit was for our little information pool here. Stay safe and good luck with your repair journey! Cheers!
Hey, thanks a ton for the advice! I figured having a huge run might be contributing to all these issues, no shortcuts with getting old I guess. Haha! I never thought about the oil viscosity or potential filter issues, definitely worth some consideration. And yup, I'm planning to take it into the aisle for a professional look pretty soon before things get worse. I'll remember to update you good souls here once we crack this nut. Thanks for sharing thoughts and suggestions, it means a lot! Safe driving and cheers to the next round of troubleshooting. Take care!
Hey! Funny enough, I actually had a similar issue on my 2013 Peugeot 3008, another diesel model of the same brand. Just to be clear, I'm no mechanic, just a car owner with a bit of experience from dealing with various issues. In my case, the problem was indeed with the oil pressure system, specifically the oil pump had a defect. I had to get it replaced at my local workshop. To be honest, the whole affair was a bit of a pain because it was my first time dealing with such a problem. The repair set me back 755€. Anyway, could you mention your mileage and service history (especially any recent oil changes or other major service work)? This might help us narrow down the potential causes for your issue. Hope this helps, and keep us posted! Cheers!
