Seeking Advice on Persistent Warning Light Issue in 2022 Dacia Spring Electric Vehicle

Warning light in the speedometer of the vehicle

Hey! I'm having a bit of trouble with my 2022 Dacia Spring, Electric engine. There's this persistent warning light on my speedometer that just won't go away. I have a hunch it could be due to worn brakes but I'd really appreciate any specific advice or insights derived from your own experience. Especially keen on hearing what your mechanics did to sort it out and any experiences you had around it. Cheers!

Hey! I had a similar issue with my 2020 Dacia Sandero.Stepway, not an electric though, I'm more of a petrol-headed guy. In all modesty, my experience with cars is somewhat in the middle - I know a thing or two but I'm no pro. I faced a similar warning light which troubled me a lot. Took it down to the local workshop where they diagnosed a problematic DSC/ABS control unit, not too common I may add. Fixed me up in a day but set me back 1000€, much to my chagrin. Could you supply more information about your vehicle like mileage or recent maintenance history? It’ll help me to provide a more detailed insight into your issue. Remember; the devil is always in the details. Best of luck! Cheers!

Hey, thanks for getting back to me! Just to give you a bit more information, my Dacia Spring's got around 75868km on it. So, it's not exactly a spring chicken, even if it is only from 2022. As far as maintenance goes, I took it in for its latest service about a month ago. They didn't mention anything about the DSC/ABS control unit, but I'll definitely keep this in mind when I speak to them about the warning light. Have a good one! Cheers!

Hello again, Thanks for the extra information on your 2022 Dacia Spring, electric engine. With that mileage, there's likely quite a bit of wear and tear happening under the hood, or rather under the seat in your case! Your regular maintenance routine is definitely a good thing, but sometimes specific issues like those with warning lights can slip through the cracks. Mechanics have a lot to check and depend a lot on their diagnostics tools. As for your suspicion on the brakes being worn, it's definitely a possibility. Brake wear indicators in some models could trigger a warning light on your dash. Also, considering your mileage, it could be worth checking on your brake pads, discs, or even brake fluid levels. Since it's an electric motor, additionally, it could be something related to the battery system too. Sometimes, low-voltage issues can cause strange warnings to pop up on your dash which seems irrelevant. Anyway, the best bet is always to get it checked by a professional. If they overlooked it last time, definitely bring it to their attention this time. Stay safe out there on the roads! Cheers!

Thanks a tonne for the detailed advice and based on what you've shared, I see the value in consulting a professional ASAP. A quick trip down to the local garage ought to sort this all out. Can't neglect the brakes or the battery system, can we? I appreciate your time. Drive safe and take care! Cheers!
