Hey! Cheers for your response and for sharing your experience. My Tarraco's got about 146691 KM on the clock. Last service was a full-on one, happened just around the 140k KM mark. I've been using a reputable synthetic oil, as recommended by Seat. The ol' girl's been running pretty smooth until these nuisances popped up. I'm kinda leaning towards an oil level sensor issue as well, based on what you mentioned about your Ateca. I'll definitely get it to a mechanic for a check-up. The metal shavings in the oil have got me worried though. Thanks again for your help, really appreciate it!
Hey champ! No worries, happy to throw my two cents in! So, given your Tarraco's mileage and service history, and considering you're using a good quality oil, it indeed sounds like the oil sensor might be the main pain in the neck. But just a heads up, the metal shavings could signal something more serious than a wonky oil sensor. They might be a sign of engine wear or damage. Best case scenario, it's just some contaminants that found their way into your oil but worse case, it's the internals of your engine grinding down. Either way, I'd prioritize getting that sussed out ASAP. I know nobody likes to hear bad news but an engine check or overhaul might be necessary if it's serious. Fingers crossed it isn't though! Good luck with it all, hope it pans out well for you. Looking forward to hearing how it turns out! Stay safe out there on the roads!
Hey, thanks for the heads up and concern over the metal shavings! Yeah, I hope it's just some contaminants and nothing severe but I guess I'll never know until I pop the hood and get a proper look. Thanks for suggesting that engine check or overhaul, while it's not what I want to hear, it's probably what I need to hear. Being proactive with these things is always the best approach. Fingers crossed this problem doesn't turn into a headache. I'll keep you all posted on the situation. Drive safe! Cheers!
Hey there! I had a ride very similar to yours, 2017 Seat Ateca, Diesel version though. I ain't no mechanic, just got some experience under my belt. Encountered the same gremlin with the oil light. Brought my Ateca to a local workshop and the mechanic did a full check. Turned out to be an Oil level sensor cable connection problem. He fixed it up for me, cost was about 165.00 Euro. Can't say for sure without knowing more about your Tarraco. Would be helpful if you could share more specifics like your car's mileage, when was the last service, and what kind of oil you're using? Take care!
