Hey, thanks for sharing your experience with your Juke, really helped put things into perspective. Sounds like getting the car in for another checkup is indeed my best bet. By the way, do you recall roughly how much cost you had to bear for the whole repair process - diagnostics, parts, labor, the whole package? Also, has the issue popped up again since the fix or was that the end of it? Hoping to get an esti of what I might be in for. Cheers!

Hey, no problem, glad my experience could help a bit! As for your question, if I recall correctly, the total amount I had to shell out for the whole shebang was about 395€. That covered both the diagnosis and the repair of the faulty wiring harness linking the glow control unit and engine control unit. And to answer your second question - since the repair, I've had no recurrence of the problem whatsoever. Ever since the mechanic fixed the malfunctioning glow plug, it's been smooth sailing for my Juke, at least on this front. Really hope the same happens for your Cube. All the best!

Thanks, I really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience and insights. I must say, you've eased my mind a fair bit! Knowing that your problem didn't recur after the fix does sound promising. 395€ seems a reasonable spend if it's going to rectify the problem permanently. I think I'll schedule an appointment with a trusted mechanic ASAP, and get the necessary repair work done. Thanks again for the info. I'll report back how it goes. Fingers crossed, cheers!

Hey there, your situation sounds unnervingly similar to the issues I had with my 2011 Nissan Juke, not too long ago. The pre-glow light, the black smoke and the cold starts... been there, done that. Turned out that the wiring harness from the glow control unit to the engine control unit was defective. Both these units are vital to the functioning of the engine, especially for a diesel one like yours and mine. So yeah, it was a significant issue. My mechanic ran a diagnostic check, found the fault with the wiring harness and repaired it, resolving the issue effectively. It instantly led to better starts, no constant engine check light and the DPF regeneration got back on track. I'd suggest getting your car re-inspected by a reliable mechanic ASAP. This issue, if not resolved, can lead to more serious problems, especially concerning the glow plug and the Engine Control Unit (ECU). Don't worry too much though, even serious sounding problems like these can usually be resolved with the right expertise. Good luck!
