Hey, cheers for the quick reply! Your situation sounds a bit daunting, but glad your was able to sort it out. The wiring harness thing sounds like it could have been a big blow to the wallet. If you don't mind me asking, can you remember roughly how much you shelled out for that fix? And has there been anything else going haywire with your Renault since then?
Hey, no worries, happy to help! To fix that naughty wiring harness, it ended up costing me around 170 bob. Not exactly pocket change, but hey, gotta keep the car—and the missus—happy, right? Ever since the visit to my mechanic, my Renault's been running smooth as a whistle. Actually, you were spot on about the Coolant thermostat acting up. It did give me some jitters a little while after the harness issue but, luckily, my friend noticed it and managed to fix the bugger while I was there the last time. So, I'd knock on the wood, but things have been pretty steady since. So go get that check on your Arkana. Better safe than sorry, right?
Oi, thanks a bunch for the insight! 170 quid's a bit up there, but yeah, can't put a price on peace of mind. And your thermostat acting up as well, just like I suspected mine. Huh, strange coincidence, isn't it? Good your bloke spotted it in time though! Guess it's off to the mechanics for me then. Gotta find a decent one this time who won't be all waffle, no action. Hopefully, my Renault won't throw any more surprises my way. Thanks again for steering me in the right direction. Fingers crossed!
Hey there! Felt a similar pinch with my 2018 Renault Megane not long ago. It too had the check engine light up like Times Square! A good mechanic friend took a decent look at it for me. Turned out, it wasn't the coolant thermostat for me. Instead, the culprit was a damaged wiring harness. Quite a serious deal. The whole system was out of whack since the harness is like the nervous system of the car, you know--connecting to numerous components. Had to get it rectified pronto to keep the missus happy. My bloke managed to sort it out, but not an issue to ignore. Would suggest you to try and get your ride checked out. Cheers!
