Hey, dang that sounds almost bang on to what I'm dealing with my CT200h right now. Kinda puts my mind at ease knowing I'm not the only one. I'm curious, do you recall roughly how much that little cap replacement and coolant top-off set you back? And since the fix, have you had any other related issues pop up? Just want to gather as much info as I can before I dive into the mechanics again. Cheers!
Hey there, glad my experience could help assuage your worries a bit! I recall paying something in the ballpark of 52€ for the cap replacement and the coolant refill. Not to worry, it didn't burn a hole in my pocket. Since then, my Lexus NX300 has been running smooth as silk. Haven't had a single problem with the coolant level or any related issues since the fix. So, I say give that radiator cap and coolant a check. You'll be back cruising on the road in no time!
Truly appreciate your help! That sounds like a manageable price for getting the old girl back on the road. It's quite relieving to hear that your car's been running smoothly post fix. I'll definitely give the radiator cap and coolant a look and schedule a visit to the mechanic soon. Thanks a ton for the detailed info, it's definitely made me feel less anxious about the whole thing. Take care and safe driving!
Yo sounds like you're in a similar situation to what I was in a while back with my 2018 Lexus NX300. Checked my ride one morning and noticed that the coolant level was way too low, and yeah, got those annoying warning lights as well. Turned out, I had a problem with the radiator cap. It wasn't functioning properly and allowed coolant to escape. Not gonna lie, it was quite a serious issue - driving without realizing my car was overheating could have done a number on the engine if I'd been clueless for any longer. In terms of the fix, my mechanic got down to business on it by inspecting the coolant tank. Found out the trouble maker was the cap and the coolant had been leaking out. Fixed the cap, topped up the coolant, and I was good to go. So, I'd recommend checking your radiator and the cap first, sometimes the small things can cause big problems. Don't sweat it too much till you know what you're dealing with!
