Hey! Thanks for reaching out. Apart from the overheating and check engine light, I have also noticed some unusual gurgling sounds after I shut the engine off. Not sure if that's related. I'm planning to take my Dokker with 25654 KM mileage to the workshop tomorrow. Let's hope it doesn't cost an arm and a leg 😅. I appreciate your advice! Cheers!

Hey there! No worries, glad to offer some advice. That gurgling sound might actually be a symptom of a cooling system problem. It could possibly indicate air stuck in the system or a failing head gasket. But let's not get ahead of ourselves! In my Sandero, air trapped in my cooling system caused such noises. I fixed it by doing a coolant flush which wasn't too expensive. My overheating issue got resolved as well. That said, your Dokker is newer, so it might have different stuff going on. Remember, the trouble codes that triggered your check engine light can give a lot of useful info to your mechanic. Make sure to ask them about that. Hoping it’s nothing too serious for your ride. Good luck! Let us know how it goes tomorrow. Cheers!

Thanks a lot! Feeling hopeful with all the advice. Noted on the coolant flush and the trouble codes – I'll definitely bring those up. Might've been going around in circles without you pointing these out. Fingers crossed it's not a failing head gasket - that will burn a hole in my pocket! I'll update you guys tomorrow after I head to the workshop. Appreciate all your help! Cheers!

Hey! So I've got some experience with a pretty similar problem on my 2011 Dacia Sandero. Just your average car guy, not much of a grease monkey though. When I faced a similar overheating issue, it turned out the problem wasn't with the coolant pump. The cable on the pump/control unit was actually defective. A trip to my local workshop showed me that. The problem was sorted after I coughed up 220 Euro. Not the cheapest solution, but it did the job. I reckon it's best to have a pro check out that engine light. Just to be safe, right? Also, do you have any other symptoms? It might help to get a better picture of what's going on under the hood.
