Hey, appreciate the insight! Yeah, it happens when I'm stuck in traffic or idling for a good amount of time. Heavy local commutes, mostly during peak-hour traffic - that’s my typical drive. And the overheating is not something that just pops up randomly; it’s almost consistent after 30 minutes or so in stop-and-go traffic. Just had it serviced at 52520 km, and all was fine till this issue popped up. I guess I’ll check out the electric fan control unit as you suggested. Thanks for the help! I'm off to investigate now. Cheers!
No worries at all! Glad I could help out. Your drive conditions and symptoms seem very similar to what I had experienced with my Kadjar. Given the situation, I would place my money on the electric fan control unit being the culprit. And side suggestion - don't let the car stay in the overheating state for too long. It can cause some nasty damage to the engine, which you definitely don't want. If possible, try to avoid those long idle periods till you get it fixed. Do make sure you get a proper diagnosis done at the workshop though. My cost for the control unit replacement might not be the same for your Arkana, so just keep that in mind. Wish you best of luck with the investigation! Let us know how it goes, always good to learn from these experiences. Safe driving!
Cheers for the advice! You've been of great help. I will definitely get it checked by the experts. And I'll be honest, I've been trying to avoid the garage visit due to my busy schedule, but I understand the potential risks now. Thanks for the heads-up on the control unit costs too, will keep that in mind. Once it's all sorted, I'll make sure to drop an update here about how it went. Stay safe on the road and take care!
Hey there, I can relate to your problem with my own experience on a 2018 Renault Kadjar, diesel variant. Now, I wouldn't describe myself as a car geek, but I do have some poking-around-the-engine experience. In my case, the workshop folks did a proper diagnosis and concluded that my Electric fan "control unit" was defective. Got the control unit replaced, and it cost me about 480 euro. Just like you, I had the car overheating and A/C issue. After the repair, everything is back to normal! Do you also have a problem when you're stuck in traffic or idling for a long time? Can you describe how often you're driving and under what conditions when the overheating happens? These details can be helpful to identify the root cause. But based on my experience, the electric fan issue seems like a solid guess.
