Seeking Advice on Overheating and AC Issues in 2018 Peugeot 508 Diesel

Hey! I'm currently struggling with my 2018 Peugeot 508 Diesel that's got about 55k km on the clock. The AC's blowing out warm and the car's overheating - making me think the electric fan's busted. Any of you guys ever dealt with a similar issue? How'd it pan out when you took your ride to the mechanic? Sharing any experiences would really help. Cheers!

Hey there, I ran into a similar predicament with my 2015 Peugeot 308 Diesel a while back. The issue here seemed to be the fan control unit, also known as the resistor. This little piece was acting up and causing the fan not spinning as it should have done which consequentially led to the overheating and the AC throwing warm air. Not like a lets-bring-the-world-to-its-end thing, but ignoring it for too long could end up causing some serious engine troubles for ya. Brought my ride into a trusted garage I've used before. They did a thorough diagnostic which pointed them to a faulty fan control unit causing the fan not working. After replacing it, everything was back on track - no more overheating or warm AC. Hope this helps, and best of luck with your '18 508 Diesel!

Howdy! Your story with the 308 Diesel resonated with me. Had a pretty similar situation on my 2017 508 Diesel. After a good ol' diagnostic, it turned out to be that pesky little resistor causing a ruckus. Once swapped out, no more issues from there. I'm curious, how much did you shell out to get your fan control unit replaced? And have you noticed any other glitches or related issues popping up since you got that fixed? Cheers!

Hey, glad my story was of some help. After handing over my trusty 308 Diesel to the mechanic, I was back on the road with no more overheating or AC problems – cost me 480.00 € to get that misbehaving fan control unit/resistor back in shape. Since then, she's been running smooth, no more troubles whatsoever linked to that part. Goes on to show how important it is to catch these things early. Always keep an eye on your ride, eh? Cheers!

Hey! Really appreciate the detailed info - both of you. Looks like the troublesome control unit might be the culprit. The estimated cost range helps as well. Glad to hear there haven't been any other related issues post repairs. I'm running my 508 Diesel to the mechanic tomorrow. Wish me luck! Also, I'll definitely pay more attention to how my car behaves. It's a proper lifesaver. Cheers guys!
