Seeking Advice on Non-functioning Cruise Control in 2013 Lexus IS Diesel

Cruise control without function

Hey guys, I've been having a bit of a headache with my 2013 Lexus IS Diesel recently. Noticed that the Cruise control has packed up and my car's been storing faults as well. I suspect the non-functioning Cruise control might be the root cause. Has anyone else experienced this issue and how did you get it sorted out in your workshop? All tips and shared experiences would be super helpful to narrow this down. Thanks in advance!

Hey! I've tackled a similar bug with my 2013 Lexus IS diesel, pretty much identical situation. I'm not exactly a car mastermind, just got some experience under my belt. In my case, the glitch was a defective cable connection. Looked into it with my local garage, they had it repaired for a reasonable €95. But to hone in on your issue, could you be a little more specific about the error codes? Those could give us a clearer idea. Cheers!

Hey, appreciate the swift response! The error codes are kinda hard to remember for sure, with all the mumbo-jumbo they've got. But I did make sure to jot them down before I cleared the memory last time. Here it goes: P0571 and P0564. They seem to be directly related to the cruise control, that much I figured. Hope that gives a better picture. Oh, and my Lexus has clocked 156954 km as of its most recent service. Cheers!

Hey again, Ah, those error codes are a help for sure! I had P0571 on mine as well, which indicates a cruise control/brake switch "A" circuit problem. I remember P0564 correlates to cruise control command switch "A" circuit. They may indeed point to some fault in the cruise control system, typically the switches, or possibly fuses... always worth checking those. Your mileage is similar to what mine was when it had this issue. It's kinda surprising this happened to a Lexus, known for their reliability... that said, no car is immune to the odd gremlin. So getting back to the point, seeing the same error codes might mean your cruise suffers from a similar issue as mine. But remember, it's not a definitive diagnosis, just a direction to look into. And definitely have it checked out by a professional to prevent any potentially pricey repairs down the road. Good luck with your troubleshooting and hope your Lexus gets back up to speed soon! Cheers!

Yo, Thanks a million for taking the time to respond and for the specific advice! I was kind of suspecting the switches too but didn't bother checking the fuses. I'll make sure to give that a look, and take your advice on getting a pro's eye on it to avoid any further damage. Never expected a Lexus to give me this grief - love the car otherwise. Let's hope this fixes my cruise control issue. Sure appreciate all the tips! I'll let you know how it goes. Cheers!
