Seeking Advice on Non-Functional Massage Seat in 2013 Lexus IS Diesel Model

Massage seat without function

Hey car enthusiasts! I've run into a snag with my 2013 Lexus IS, Diesel model with about 134k on the clock. The massage seat has stopped working and I’m suspecting that it's got something to do with a faulty switch. My last visit to the mechanic wasn't the smoothest so I’m a tad cautious this time around. Anyone out there dealt with something similar? How did your mechanic manage it and what should I watch out for? All advice would be appreciated!

Hey! I also faced a similar issue with my 2011 Lexus IS a while back. I had a feeling that it was related to a cable connection, similar to what you're experiencing. After a detailed check, the problem was indeed a defective switch and plug connection in the seat system, so your suspicion might well be right on the money. The mechanics basically had to open up the seat, check the wiring connections and replace the faulty parts. The bit that stood out was they cautioned me about the fact that cable defects can sometimes cause other complications if not fixed promptly. Just make sure they inspect all the wiring and not just the switch, to prevent any future issues. My car's been pretty smooth sailing since then, so all the best!

Hey there, Thanks so much for the response! It's reassuring to know I'm possibly on the right track with the faulty switch suspicion. I will definitely take your advice and ensure the mechanic checks all the wiring and connections, not just the switch. By the way, can you recall how much you shelled out for this fix? And since you mentioned your car's been running smoothly, have there been any other complications or related issues that popped up? Your input would be greatly helpful! Thanks again!

Hey! No problem at all, glad to help! Now, speaking about the price, I paid just around 95 bucks to get the defective cable connection sorted. Yeah, it surprised me too - it wasn't as hefty as I expected. As for any other complications, I'm happy to report there's been none. Since the mechanic fixed the defective switch of the massage seat, it has been working perfectly fine. It really underscores the importance of dealing with these minor issues head-on to avoid any bigger snags down the line. Good luck with your repair! Hope your Lexus gets back its vibration groove pretty soon!

Hey! You're a lifesaver, thanks heaps for the valuable info! Really puts me at ease knowing it might not cut as deep into my wallet as I thought. Also great to hear that no other problems have come your way after the fix. I'll certainly tackle this issue as soon as possible to keep my car running smoothly. Hope to have my Lexus' relaxing massages back on the road pretty soon. Will let you know how it goes! Appreciate the advice!
