Hey, thanks for the reply. I've clocked nearly 97377 km on this old girl. Not to mention, the latest service was done pretty recently - barely a couple of months back. I'm not much of a gearhead myself, just know enough to keep things running smoothly. I didn't get a chance to run any diagnostic tests yet. But I reckon I probably should get a complete system scan done to fetch any error codes. This kangaroo hopping act has seriously started to bug the life out of me! Thanks for your story and the tip! Really appreciate it, cheers! Hope this gremlin leaves my car soon.
Hey! Can sure feel your frustration it's pretty annoying when our set of wheels starts acting crazy like this. Since our cars are of the same make, albeit different models, there could be some similarities in the issues. In my case, the defective component turned out to be the engine control unit (ECU), an important part of the car's onboard computer. It can cause all sorts of mayhem, just like what you're experiencing - unsteady engine, drop in power, warning lights, stored faults, you name it! I'd definitely recommend getting your car scanned for error codes as you said. It really helped me pin down the problem to the ECU. And given that your service was done only recently, it could possibly be a clue to that. But again, I'm no expert. This is just my experience. Let me tell ya though, fixing that ECU wasn't cheap at all, but it sure beat the inconsistency of dealing with a jerky engine and a moody start button. Fingers crossed for you! I hope this helps and you manage to get rid of that gremlin soon. Good luck, Cheers!
Thanks a lot for your help! Ah, the things we have to go through for our beloved cars, eh? Troublesome, but worth it. Your experiences and tips have been extremely helpful, honestly. I'm awfully glad to have found someone who had to deal with a similarly uncooperative car, haha. I'll surely follow your advice and get my car scanned for error codes. Engine Control Unit, eh? I wouldn't have guessed that could be the issue. I'll definitely keep that in mind and see if anything pops up related to the ECU during the diagnostic check. You're right, it sure beats dealing with an unreliable car. I'll be prepared to cover that steep cost if it comes down to it. Can't quite deal with this car acting up any longer, it's time to get this resolved. Can't thank you enough for sharing your story. Let's see if I manage to evict this unwanted gremlin from my car! Cheers! Wish me luck.
Hey! I had a somewhat similar issue with my Kia Sportage 2017 model, essentially within the same brand. As for my level of car know-how, I'd say I stand at 'some experience' - I'm certainly not a pro, but I know a thing or two. Long story short, turned out to be a defective issue with one of the components. Dropped my car off at the local workshop, the lads ran a comprehensive diagnostic test, and we found the culprit soon enough. Had to fork out around 625 Euro to get it fixed, but it did the trick. Do you have a diagnostic error code or something to go on? If you could provide a little more info about your car condition, I might be able to help narrow down the possible causes. Cheers, and good luck with it!
