Hey, really appreciate you sharing your experience. Sounds like a bit of a nightmare at first but relieved to hear you got it sorted out in the end. So they ended up swapping out the entire manifold huh? I guess I better start bracing for a dent in the wallet. Do you happen to remember roughly how much this all set you back? And since the fix, have there been any other problems cropping up, or has it been smooth sailing? Cheers again for your help!
Hey! Yeah, it was a bit of a rollercoaster dealing with this car problem. My wallet did feel lighter afterwards - the repair cost me a cool 1180.00 €. That accounted for the whole operation: the new manifold, labour, taxes, and all those bits and bobs that end up adding up. No fun forking it out but better that than risking more trouble down the line, right? As for how it's been since the fix, luckily, things have been running pretty smoothly. The suspect swirl flaps issue? Totally sorted. Ever since the intake manifold got the overhaul and the mechanic squashed that charring problem, I've been riding easy. No engine warnings, no power losses and definitely no shaky business or black smoke. Honestly, it's been a pretty big relief. I reckon you'll be just fine once you get it all patched up. Don't sweat it too much and go get that beast sorted! Best of luck!
Hey, thanks a ton for getting back so quick and the detailed guide through your past hustle. I'm now prepping myself to shell out around a grand or so, sounds par for the course for such an issue. A relief indeed to hear that it sorted out everything and your ride has been smooth ever since. I'll definitely get down to resolving this ASAP before it escalates any further, nobody wants a long drawn out car drama. You've been a great help! Wish me luck, fingers crossed it pans out just as smoothly for me. Cheers!
Hey there, seems like you're having quite the hassle. Not fun, right? I have a 2018 Kia Sportage, had a similar sort of issue last year. Those symptoms rang a bell for me, especially the odd engine behavior and black smoke, and turned out it was indeed due to an intake manifold leak. Truth is, it was a pretty serious issue given that it affects engine performance big time. The leak was due to charring on the intake manifold. Besides affecting performance, it would've worsened over time and caused further damage if ignored. In my case, the manifold was removed and replaced entirely. They did a thorough job of cleaning the area, checking for other leaks, and installing the new manifold. It was a hefty job, but it was definitely good to get it sorted before it caused more trouble. It's key to get a mechanic who knows what they're doing. Just tell him your guesses, let him peek under the hood, and hopefully, he'll figure it out. Good luck hope you get this resolved soon!
