Hey there, Madly appreciating you taking out time to give the heads up! Sounds like we're sailing the same boat here with our Lexi! Sounds spot on with the dodgy valves. I'm glad to hear it wasn't too serious in the end. Quick question though, do you recall how much the total dent on your wallet was to sort out these valves? And fingers crossed, nothing else has popped up needing fixing since then, right? Appreciate you sharing your experience definitely stand a bit taller knowing I'm not the only one out here dealing with hot air! Cheers!
Hey! Great to hear back from you! Happy to provide a little comfort in your aircon problem. Now, answering your question about the cost you won't believe that the cost was zero, nada, zilch! Simply because it's a known quirk with our model, so the defective individual valves in the A/C were taken care of for free. That's one sweet deal from where I'm standing! As for your second question, since that complete valve overhaul, touch wood, there's not been a problem; the A/C's been running as smooth as a whistle. So, your worries can take a hike, at least on the recurrence part! Always happy to share especially if it helps a fellow Lexus die-hard like me avoid a bit of the hot air we've both had our fill of! Take it easy,
Hey! Ah, you have no idea! Reading that was like a breath of cool air, pun absolutely intended! Free replacement, huh? Now that doesn't sound like something I'd say no to! I don't quite know if my heart is ready to do the celebratory flip just yet, what with me having to go to the garage and all, the place makes me shudder even from a distance! But your words have given me some much-needed confidence. Thanks for sharing and here's hoping my experience is a breeze too. Lexus love all the way, we've got this! Cheers!
Hey! Looks like we've got similar rides. I have a 2012 Lexus GS Hybrid, and ran into almost the same problem as you. The A/C, out of the blue, started chucking out warm air rather than cold. At times, it wouldn't even start. Like a bullet to the heart, I knew it wasn't something simple. Turned out, a couple of individual valves in the air conditioning system were defective. The real kicker was, it wasn't just one but several that had given up the ghost. Apparently, it's a recognised issue with our models, so you might be on the money with your suspicion. What needed to be done was replace the defective valves. It wasn't a quick-fix job, but once sorted, it made a colossal difference. Interestingly enough, it didn't turn out to be as serious as it initially sounded. Since the mechanic had seen this in other Lexus's, he knew exactly what needed to be done so no scary explorations under the hood were needed. And best part is, post fix, it's been smooth sailing, no recurring issues. hopefully this gives you a bit peace of mind. Best of luck dealing with the garage, Cheers!
