Hey there! Appreciate your input. Sounds like you got a good grip on things from your dad! Yeah, your DPF experience seems pretty similar to mine. And ouch, €1325.00...that's quite the unexpected expense. Concerning your question, my UX has covered a good 176428 KM mostly around town, since I use it for daily commuting and errands. Hardly any motorway action, I must confess. Guess the city run is taking a toll on my precious ride, as you mentioned. Will make sure to get it looked at by a professional – it's due for its latest service anyway. I'm crossing my fingers it's only a sensor issue. Cheers for the help!
Hey again! Sure sounds like you've given your UX a good workout with that city run mileage. Yeah, the absence of motorway action and all that stop-start traffic can really do a number on these complex hybrid systems, mostly around the DPF and exhaust sensors. In my experience, it's best to give these babies a good run on the motorway or open roads every now and again - helps clear the system out a bit. And yes, though the cost was an eye-opener, I've had smooth sailing on my NX since then - definitely worth the investment. As for your situation, fingers crossed it's just a sensor or something minor. Keep us posted on the situation. Will be interesting to hear what the professionals say. Good luck with the service!
Hey again! Oh, definitely, my UX's been my workhorse and it shows now, heh. Didn't really think about the factor of all the stop-start city traffic. The advice on giving the car a good run on the motorway makes sense, will squeeze in some motorway action every now and then. Thanks for the tip! Glad to hear your NX is running smoothly post the service. Here's hoping I have the same luck. Absolutely, I'll keep you posted about what the mechanic uncovers. Fingers crossed, right? Take care, and appreciate all your advice!
Hey there, had a similar issue with my 2019 Lexus NX Hybrid a while back, pesky DPF issue as well. Now, I'm no mechanic, just know a thing or two about cars from my dad. Anyway, took it to my local workshop - friendly up 'n' straight. They looked it up and told me the DPF was severely overloaded. Seems like the city run doesn't agree with these hybrids, not enough time to burn off the particulates, you see. Had to part with a hefty €1325.00 to get it sorted, quite a dent in my wallet, but that's what you get for cleaner emissions, right? Strangely though, black smoke's not a common sign for DPF issues. Better to have your ride checked out by a competent professional. Could be a failing sensor, as you said. Hope this helps! Btw, do you run your UX mostly in the city or have you had some motorway action too? More info would definitely help narrow down the issue. Good luck!
