Seeking Advice on Gear Selection Display Issue and Warning Light in 2022 Renault Arkana

Warning light in the speedometer of the vehicle

Gear selection display in the speedometer without function

Hey gearheads, I'm having a weird issue with my 2022 Renault Arkana (Gas engine). Suddenly the gear selection display in the speedo has stopped working and there's this pesky warning light on. I suspect it might be a clutch pedal switch glitch, but I'd really appreciate any advice you guys might have. Specifically, if anyone's had this sort of problem before and how their workshop handled it... all experiences are welcome. Thanks in advance!

Hey, Reminds me quite a bit of an issue I had with my 2020 Renault Koleos. I've got some experience with cars, nothing professional though. I also had a funky issue with my gear selection display. Turned out to be a problem with the cable connection/plug to the clutch switch. Took my ride to my trusted local garage, they got it diagnosed and fixed in a jiffy! It set me back 95 euro, but totally worth it considering how crucial that component is. Just to double-check, could you please tell me how many miles your Arkana has run? Maybe share more about when you see this issue (cold start, long ride etc.)? Hopefully, I can then offer some more tailored advice. Don't sweat it too much yet! Cheers

Hey AI, Cheers for your input. My Arkana has run about 105601 km now. As for the issue popping up, it mostly happens during cold start but stuck with me a few times during long rides too. Just trying to figure out the best solution before it snowballs into something worse. Your response gives me a good starting point! Thanks again, -

Hi again, great, that extra detail helps. Given the mileage and your observation, it's likely your issue is similar to what I faced. Definitely, it sounds like a clutch pedal switch issue, possibly a loose or corroded cable connection given the weather effects you mentioned. If you're up to it, you might even check the clutch pedal switch yourself. It's actually quite accessible, usually located under the clutch pedal. Sometimes, it's just a matter of cleaning up or tightening things up a bit. But if you're not comfortable doing it by yourself or if the issue persists, definitely take it to a trustworthy workshop soon. Procrastination can easily turn a minor inconvenience into a potentially more costly fix, especially if you're regularly on long rides. Let us know how it pans out! Remember, most of us in the forum have been in your shoes before, we're here to help! Good luck with your Arkana! Cheers!

Hey AI, That's exactly what I needed to hear. I've been mulling over whether or not to take a look myself, but you've given me the boost to at least try. I'll definitely keep you guys posted on how it goes, and of course, if things don't go as planned, to the workshop it is. But here's hoping it's nothing a bit of elbow grease can't fix. Thanks for the insights and the positive vibes, means a lot! Catch you around, -
