Seeking Advice on Fixing Uneven Ride Height and Bouncing Issue in 2012 Nissan Lafesta

Excessive Bouncing

|

Uneven Ride Height

Hey folks, I've run into a peculiar snag with my 2012 Nissan Lafesta, Gasoline engine. Recently, I've been noticing an unusual uneven ride height and a lot of bouncing. My first hunch is that it might have something to do with an incorrect door contact signal, but I'm far from certain. Would really appreciate if any of you experienced this before and how you managed to get it fixed in your workshop? Any insights or advice would be super helpful. Cheers!

Hey there! I've got a 2010 Nissan Serena, pretty similar ride to your Lafesta. I'm no car whiz, just been around a few cars in my days. Had the same bumpy issue, and it turned out to be a defective cable/plug connection causing all the trouble, not a door contact signal. A local workshop sorted it out for 155 Euro. Just to be sure, are all your tyres and suspension components in decent condition? Might help to know a bit more about your Lafesta to guide you better. Cheers!

Hey! Great to hear from you. I checked my tyres and suspension recently -- all seemed to be in good condition, no visual signs of wear and tear. My Lafesta's got about 12737 KM on the dash but she got her last full service just a couple months back. It's strange how this bouncing has started all of a sudden. I reckon I'll take your advice and have a local mechanic take a look into cable/plug connections you mentioned. Thanks for the advice! Appreciate your time. Cheers!

Hi again! Guess it's relatively good news that tyres and suspension are both looking fine - those could usually cause such issues. Just goes to show cars can toss us some unexpected curveballs, eh? Your Lafesta's mileage is pretty low, so this issue is indeed a bit surprising. It sounds like your last service didn't pick up on any problems, so it might be a recent development. You're on the right track getting a mechanic to check those cable/plug connections. Also, if you could, ask him to take a good look at your struts and shock absorbers, they might also be the culprit for excessive bouncing. Sometimes, they can wear out pretty subtly but have a huge impact on the ride's quality. Good luck! Keep us posted on how it turns out. Safe driving!

Cheers! I didn't consider the struts or shock absorbers actually, good thinking! They probably do deserve some attention considering the symptoms. Going to have those checked out as well. Will keep you lot updated on how it goes. Really appreciate your advice. Safe driving to you too!
