Hey, thanks for your suggestion! You know, now that I think about it, I remember having to replace the fuse box about three months ago. No other electrical repairs since then, but the battery hasn't been replaced since I passed the 80,000 KM mark. Might be the ol' girl's time. I guess I'll get her checked out at my trusted garage. Really appreciate your help! Last service for my Skoda was around 115,874 KM km and I'm overdue for the next one anyway. Cheers!
No worries at all, happy to help! Good on you for remembering the fuse box replacement, could be part of the whole puzzle. And yep, the battery lifespan does match up with your issue. While there's a few possibilities, it's most likely the case here. Glad to hear you're getting it checked! And ah, she's clocked quite the mileage, hasn't she? Definitely a good call to add a thorough check into your to-do list. Remember, if it's indeed the battery, get it replaced right away. Don't want to risk a stall on the highway. Plus, a new battery could sort your fuel economy out and help you save some money in the long run. Hope your Skoda behaves after the service. And hey, swing back here after your garage visit. Curious to know what the actual issue turned out to be. Stay safe on the road, bud!
I definitely will! I'll be sure to report back after the visit to the garage. Your advice has been super helpful. It's apparent a new battery can give more than just a simple fix. Gotta love when car troubles lead to potential savings, right? Haha. I'm even more convinced now that it's time to stop procrastinating and get her checked up. Cheers for taking the time to offer your insights, really appreciate it. Safe drivin', bud!
Hey! I had a very similar issue with my 2016 Skoda Octavia. I'm no car wizard, just some experience from a lot of tinkering. Took it to my local shop where they worked it out. Turned out my battery was weak, it was causing all of the problems you listed. The mechanic ended up replacing it and it cost me about 290 Euro. From the symptoms you described, sounds like your battery might be on its last legs as well. Sure this doesn't always solve it, but it's a good start. Could you share if there were any recent electrical repairs or associated problems? Clarifying such details might help diagnose the root of your current troubles. Best of luck!
