Hey there! Damn, your story sounds relatively familiar. It gives me a bit of relief knowing that it was just the auxiliary heater in your case and not the climate control unit as you said, sounds definitely more budget-friendly. Speaking of budget, do you by any chance remember how much you had to shell out for getting the heater replaced? Also, has everything been smooth sailing since then or did you encounter any other related problems down the road? Thanks a lot for sharing your experience, really appreciate it!
Hey again! Yeah, I hear ya regarding the money matters. As far as I recall, the bill to replace the defective electric auxiliary heater came to around 350.00 €. And trust me, that was a damn sight better than if it had been the climate control unit which costs a bomb! Luckily for me, the heater was the guilty party. As for your other question, post getting it fixed - thankfully, all's been good so far. No re-runs of the shoddy heat show from before, and no related issues whatsoever. Here's hoping it stays that way, fingers crossed! Bear in mind, every car can have its own quirks, but I genuinely hope your aggro turns out to be as mine was - i.e, the electric auxiliary heater being the culprit. No worries, always good to share experiences and help a fellow driver! Let us know how you get on. All the best!
Good day again! Oh wow, a bill of 350.00 € does sound heaps better than what it would have cost if the problem was in the pricier climate control unit. I'm crossing my fingers that in my case, it's the heater too. Good to hear that you've had no further problems since the fix. It's encouraging, to say the least. I'll take your advice to heart and hope my car's issue runs along the same lines. Thanks for the all the insight and the well wishes. It feels great to hear from like you who have been through similar situations. I promise to keep you posted on how this whole saga turns out. Take care and safe driving!
Hey! Had a similar snafu with my 2011 Kia Sorento not too long ago. Just like you, it was the heater giving me the cold shoulder. Ended up being the electric auxiliary heater that was on the fritz. I'd suspected the climate control unit too, but nope, it was the heater. I took it to my usual garage and they did a thorough check up. After some diagnostic tests, they figured out that the auxiliary heater was defective, and they ended up replacing it. The climate control unit was in a-okay condition, thankfully. I was relieved, cause you know, a defective climate control unit can cost a pretty penny. And yeah, I'd say it was a bit of a serious issue because without the heater working correctly, it can quickly turn a cozy ride into a chilly ordeal, especially in the midst of winter. Cheer up hope you'll solve that issue soon. Stay warm!
