Howdy, Cheers for sharing your experience. Relieved to know I ain't alone battling these motor mysteries. No recent accidents or skyrocketing miles here. Did have the last service only a couple of months back with the odometer reading 22380 KM. Ain't mucking about much with the car apart from the allotted routine. Your sensor gig sounds plausible, given the uncanny similarities we're facing. Going by your suggestion, I reckon it's worth swinging by the local garage over the weekend. Fingers crossed it won't burn a hole in my pocket though. Anywho, I'll keep you posted. Much appreciated for the help. Wish me luck!
Hey there,, You'd better believe, car problems are seriously the gifts that keep on giving, am I right? Here's hoping the diagnosis won't leave you gasping for breath! That's a fairly decent mileage on your Palisade without major issues - touch wood. In addition to the lambda sensor issue, there might be a few other culprits worth checking out. You mentioned a nasty exhaust smell - that could point towards a problematic catalytic converter. If it's failing, it could explain the oil burn, power loss, and even the black smoke. Just to cover all your bases, consider getting the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve checked out while you're at the garage - if it's blocked or stuck open, it could be giving you grief too. Cost-wise, both scenarios might be a bit pricier than the sensor. Still, it beats driving around with a fuming, huffing, and puffing vehicle. Good luck! Make sure to rattle their cage until you're sure they've cracked it right open. Can't wait to hear how you fare. We're all in this together!
Hey, Thankfully your car troubles make for some handy advice! Appreciate you sharing that - I had kinda ruled out the catalytic converter, but it does add up when you mention it. Unfortunate if it does turn out to be that, given the cost's a pretty penny or two higher. Funny you should mention the EGR valve, had an issue with one in my old pickup a while back, and boy was that a real corker. Never thought I might relive that with the Palisade. Ugh, ain't that a kick in the head? Either way, suppose it's better knowing than guessing, right? Can't have the old girl chugging along like she's choking on a bone. I’ll brace for impact and dive into the garage abyss this weekend. Promise to keep you in the loop. Let's hope they get to the bottom of this without cracking my bank wide open! Cheers!
Hey! I'm by no means an expert, but I've muddled through a similar issue with my 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe. I can vouch for the fact that car issues aren't a picnic, eh? Had all sorts of symptoms like yours - a rough idle, reduced engine grunt and the check engine light going berserk. Turned out, one of my lambda sensors was on the fritz. Took poor old Santa to my trusty local workshop, and those guys didn't let me down. All it took was replacing that rogue lambda sensor, and it ran as smooth as silk again. Cost me about a tidy 375 Euro, but she's been purring like a kitten ever since. Just out of curiosity, have you had any recent work done? Skyrocketing miles or smack bang into something? Any deets could help me point you in a more defined direction. Keep your chin up it’ll be just fine!
