Seeking Advice on Excessive Bouncing and Persistent Warning Light in 2022 Kia Telluride

Bouncing excessively over bumps

Warning light in the speedometer of the vehicle

Excessive Bouncing

Hey all, need some advice on my 2022 Kia Telluride which has a Gas engine and has run 16,263 KM till date. Lately, I'm noticing it bouncing excessively over bumps and even the slightest unevenness on the road. Also, there's this weird warning light on the speedometer that won't turn off! My hunch is an issue with the damper adjustment of the chassis - has anyone else faced a similar issue? And any recommendations for decent mechanics would be a breath of fresh air after my last terrible experience! Cheers!

Hey there, Funny enough, I had something quite similar happen with my 2019 Kia Sorento a while back. It was bouncy as a beach ball! Turned out to be a problem with the cable connection and not the damper adjustment like I initially thought. I won't lie to you, it was a pain. Something to do with the faulty engine management system (EMS) cable that messed up the suspension warnings on my dash. To fix it, the mechanic had to replace the entire cable, reset the EMS, and bring back the bounce to the suspension. Now, don't go panicking just yet your case could be different. Best to get it diagnosed by a reliable mechanic first. I personally had a good experience with my local Kia service center. Just a heads up, though, if it turns out to be a cable connection issue, you're in for a bit of downtime since the process is quite time-consuming. Anyway, hope this helps and you get your ride sorted soon!

Hey, hope you're doing well! Wow, seems like things went a bit south with your Sorento, didn't it? Glad you managed to sort it out eventually, though. Interestingly, it looks like my Telluride might be hosting a similar party. Now, I wouldn't say the ride's as bouncy as a beach ball, but yeah, it's unsettling, and that warning light's giving me a migraine. If you don't mind me asking, could you recall how much that entire shebang cost you? And since the fix, has your ride sprung up any other surprise, or has it been smooth sailing? Thanks a bunch!

Hey there! Yeah, the old Sorento definitely threw me a curveball, that's for sure! Happily, since seeing my mechanic, things have been running pretty smoothly. That pesky issue with the damper adjustment turned out to be a red herring - it was all fine in the end. Phew! As for your concern about the costs, the bill totaled 155.00 €. That was purely for the cable connection repair, mind you - if it turns out you have other issues at play, your costs might be a touch different. Fingers crossed it's just the one problem though, right? I've got to tell you, driving after the fix was like night and day! No new surprises have sprung up on me since and it's been smooth sailing - or should I say, driving! Hope this clears up some of your worries. All the best with your Telluride!

G'day there, Thanks for the thoughtful answer, I truly appreciate it! The fact that your Sorento has been doing well gives me some relief. Concerning my Telluride, I suppose it's time for a visit to my local Kia service center for a thorough check-up. Well, let's hope it doesn't break my wallet. And 155.00 €, eh? Seems a bit steep, but if it's a proper fix, I reckon it's worth it! Thanks for the cost breakdown too, it'll definitely help me in keeping tally. And here's to hoping the fix solves the problem as well as it did for you. Certainly wouldn't mind some smooth sailing or driving, as you call it! Thank you for all the valuable advice. I'll see to it now. Cheers and beat the curveballs!
