Hey, thanks for chiming in. My Logan's clocked exactly 40207 KM so far. As for the transmission fluid, I've been pretty good about sticking to a regular maintenance cycle so my latest service was not too long ago. But with all these issues cropping up, I'm starting to question everything! I'll swing by my local store and get a check-up as you suggested, hopefully, it does the trick. Fingers crossed it won't be too tough on the pocket. Cheers for the tip, appreciate it!
G'day glad to hear back! With just over 40k KM on the clock, your Logan is still relatively young. But issues can crop up regardless of age, especially with transmissions. They're tricky! I would definitely suggest not ignoring those signs. It's awesome that you do regular maintenance and oil changes - that's top-notch car ownership right there! But if the converter lockup clutch is the real culprit, regular fluid changes might not prevent the wear and tear. Do let your mechanic do a complete check-up and don't hold back on any details when you're there. Stuff like the grinding noise, erratic shifts, whining - all of it. It'll help him pinpoint the issue, and potentially save you some dosh. The more your mechanic knows, the less he's stabbing in the dark, and the cheaper it might end up being. In my case, I decided to replace the whole transmission converter lockup clutch. It hurt my wallet a bit, but avoiding the long-term damage and potential breakdowns was worth every penny. I mean who wants to be stuck in the middle of nowhere with a cranky car? Hope your check-up goes well and your Logan gets back its groove soon. Keep us posted. Safe driving and cheers!
Hiya, thanks for the reply, the advice and the courage! Couldn't agree more - nobody likes to be stranded with a stubborn car. I'll surely give him the full rundown of the symptoms and will hope that will save me some extra bucks. I'll probably have to brace myself for the potential clutch replacement as you mentioned. Well, 'tis a part of owning a car, ain't it? So yeah, fingers crossed. I'll drop you an update on how it goes. Until then, safe travels and cheers!
Hey there, I'm by no means a car guru, but I can relate to your problem. I faced something similar in my own 2018 Dacia Duster. It wasn't exactly a picnic. I recall this agonising grinding sound breaking the silence on my tranquil drives, totally killed my vibe! The culprit? A dodgy automatic transmission converter, same as your hunch. Visited my local workshop and after a thorough check-up, the diagnosis confirmed it. I had to fork out about 2120€ to get it all sorted and back to smooth sailing. The transmission converter was the main issue and it wasn't something I could tackle with my limited car smarts. Could you let me know the exact mileage of your car? Has your Logan been treated to a transmission fluid change lately? A bit more details will help me share more specifics and potentially assist you further. Keep the wheels rolling!
