Hey, thanks for the insight! That sounds pretty much like the same ordeal I'm going through with my Doblo right now. It's a relief to hear that it's not something super serious. I totally get what you're saying about finding a trustworthy mechanic. It's always a gamble with these things, isn’t it? I guess I'll have to start hunting for one. I remember you mentioning the sensor replacement didn't give you too much trouble. Can you recall about how much it set you back? Also, since getting it fixed, have you noticed any other issues arising or have things been pretty smooth since?
Hey again, Absolutely finding a reliable mechanic can be a real chore. Worth it though, once you've got a good one! On the subject of the camshaft sensor issue, I've got some good news for you. Ever since the mechanic fixed that little troublemaker in my Fiat, it's been running like a well-oiled machine. The repair did the trick and I haven't noticed any more odd behavior or any new issues cropping up. Quite a relief, let me tell you. Now, on to the slightly less fun bit - the cost. Just to give you a ballpark figure, the whole camshaft sensor wheel repair job cost me about 695€ for my Punto. Now, bear in mind, prices could vary depending on the mechanic you go to. But at least that gives you some kind of starting point, right? Hope that sheds some light on your situation. Best of luck sorting out your Doblo!
Hey, thank you so much for all the information. It helps a ton and puts my mind a lot more at ease just knowing it's not some disastrous mechanical failure. Your advice regarding my potential camshaft sensor issue is greatly appreciated. Your explanation and personal experience have given me quite an insight on what to expect. That price point surely isn't music to my ears though, but it's good to know beforehand. It's definitely going to guide my conversation with the mechanic. I've already started research on finding a good and reliable mechanic nearby. Fingers crossed and hoping for the best. I'm glad to hear that your Punto has been smooth sailing since the repair. Here's hoping my Doblo follows suit. Thanks again. Cheers!
Hey, I had a similar issue with my 2015 Fiat Punto not too long ago. I was having trouble starting it, had erratic idling and a drop in power, much like what you described. Turned out it literally was a defective camshaft sensor wheel as you're suspecting with your Doblo. The camshaft sensor can significantly impact the car's performance, which explains all the signals you're seeing. It's fairly key to engine operations as it helps to regulate the fuel injection and ignition timing. It definitely needs to be addressed sooner rather than later, but at the same time, I wouldn't exactly class it as a grave mechanical failure. Swapping the sensor wheel wasn't a major task in my case, but you need to be cautious as there might be collateral issues you might want to address. Always good to have it looked at professionally. I guess the tricky part is hunting down a reputable mechanic who won't overcharge you for some unrelated repairs. Best of luck with it, hope it sorts out soon!
