Shaking while idling

Hey! I've run into a peculiar issue with my 2011 Hyundai i10 Gasoline. The check engine light is constantly on and the engine randomly shuts off. Also, I'm experiencing some power loss, unsteady engine, jerking on acceleration, poor gas mileage, and it shakes while idling. I suspect a problem with the crankcase ventilation. Can anyone share their experience with this issue? More specifically, how did your workshop diagnose and fix the problem? Any insights would be really appreciated.

Hey! I experienced a similar situation with my 2009 Hyundai Getz, so maybe my response can give you some ideas. I'm not a mechanic, but I've got some experience with car issues. I took my Getz to a local garage when it started showing similar symptoms. They did a bunch of tests and discovered it was indeed a crankcase ventilation issue. I ended up shelling out 360€ to get that sorted. Did you get any diagnostics done? What's the mileage on your i10? The more details you provide, the better I might be able to help. Cheers!

Hi! Thanks for your reply! I haven't got any diagnostics done yet but planning to take my i10 to the garage this week. It's currently clocked 71058 KM. I tend to service it on time, latest was a month back. Let's see what the mechanic says. Will update you once I get the diagnosis. Cheers!

Hey! No worries! With that mileage, these problems can start to surface. Good call on deciding to get a diagnosis, as these symptoms can be caused by various potential issues beyond just the crankcase ventilation. For instance, my Getz had a similar mileage when it started jerking on acceleration. Turned out, it was due to the throttle body needing a good clean up. So, there might be multiple factors at play for you. Guess we'll only know once the mechanic gets a good look. Eagerly waiting for your update. Fingers crossed it's an easy and inexpensive fix! Cheers!

Hi there, Absolutely, these things can get complex pretty fast. I didn't consider the throttle body, thanks for pointing it out. Working on cars is not really my forte, so I'll definitely bring up these issues with my mechanic. I love this little car and I'm hoping for an easy solution too. Really appreciate your help! Will keep you posted. Cheers!
