Hey, I appreciate your advice a ton, especially since your issue seems to mirror mine quite a bit! I've been mainly using my Cube for everyday driving, you know, just commuting to work and small trips. The car was last serviced recently at 53892 KM. I am indeed starting to worry about the health risk with that odor, and the drop in power isn't convenient at all especially on highways. Looks like a professional check is due. Fingers crossed it won't cost an arm and a leg, but I guess safety first. Anyways, let's see what the diagnosis reveals. Thanks again for your response, it was very helpful! Cheers.

No worries, happy to help! Your driving conditions sound normal, so it's a bit of a puzzle why the Cube's giving you such trouble. But yeah, I completely agree with you - better safe than sorry. The cost can be a bit of a bummer, I know. When I was told about the replacement cost of the exhaust system, I had a mini heart-attack myself! Thankfully, it was worth every penny and improved my car's condition. I’m hoping you also get to the bottom of your issue without it being too heavy on the wallet. Look, I remember when I took my Juke in, they mentioned something about the DPF needing to 'actively regenerate' after being reset. It needed some hard driving at max revs for around 20 minutes, in order to burn off the excess soot. So, maybe that's something to discuss if they bring up DPF issues. I've got my fingers crossed for you. Let us know how it goes after your visit to the workshop. Safe driving and talk soon!

Absolutely, I'll definitely keep your advice in mind about the 'active regeneration'. The whole DPF process sounds pretty intricate. I can see I still have lots to learn about this. Partially why I love these forums! The support from you and everyone else here is truly appreciated, makes the problem a bit easier to tackle. No one likes car troubles, especially when they start hitting the wallet - but at least we aren't alone, right? Will keep you guys updated post-workshop. Let's hope it's not too bad news. Drive safe and chat soon, cheers!

Hey, firstly I'd consider myself someone with low car experience, so take my advice with a pinch of salt, but it does sound like I had a similar problem. I actually had a similar issue with my 2018 Nissan Juke, gotta say, it really stunk (literally). I took my car to a local workshop, they ran a diagnostic and it was the exhaust system. It had a bad leak. These guys then replaced part of the exhaust system, set me back about 265 Euro but she runs like a dream now. I imagine you have already, but if you haven't, take it to a good professional. That smell could become a health issue and a constant check engine light, coupled with your car's power drop isn't something to ignore. Just one last thing, could you give more details about your car's make & driving conditions? It could help me give you more accurate advice. Cheers!
