Hey, cheers for the quick response! My Sandero has clocked about 91061 KM now, and the most recent service was just a couple of months back. Initially thought the symptoms began after the last service, but now it has me pondering because they seem to be intensifying, despite regular maintenance. Think I'll head down to a workshop soon as per your suggestion. May need to get the oil pump checked too, thanks for sharing your experience. I'll keep you posted!
No worries! Sounds like you're a bit better off than I was - my Duster had run over 100,000 KM when the troubles started. Anyway, your regular maintenance seems to be in check. Though, things like this can spring up regardless with vehicles. Yep, getting it to the workshop is a sound plan. Definitely ask them to check the oil pump and the quality of the oil itself too - contamination may play a part, as you initially thought. I'd also suggest investing some time in checking the coolant system, thermostat, and water pump given the overheating you mentioned. Who knows, it might be a more straightforward fix than you think! Looking forward to hearing how it works out for you. Cheers!
Hey, thanks a bunch again for your advice! It's comforting to know that even high mileage vehicles like yours managed to get through. And you're right, these things can happen out of the blue no matter how trouble-free the journey has been until now. The coolant system, thermostat, and water pump - great suggestions there! I feel better equipped to approach the workshop and have a meaningful conversation about my car's issues now. Will definitely keep all these pointers in mind. Here's hoping it's a simple repair in the end. I'll be sure to keep this thread updated after my visit to the workshop. Thanks again for your time. Cheers!
Hey! Ran into something similar with my 2015 Dacia Duster Diesel not too long ago. I'd say I have some experience with cars, but I'm certainly not a mechanic. When I took it in, my local workshop thought it may be because of a defective component, like you suspected. Turned out, it was the oil pump! Had it replaced for about 625€ and the car's been running well since. Could you let me know the mileage and the last service date of your Sandero? That might help further diagnose your car's issue. It sounds like you might need a professional mechanic to dive into it. Cheers!
