Seeking Advice on Airbag Warning Light Issue in 2015 Seat Mii

Fault stored

Airbag warning light

Hey everyone, I've been having some issues with my 2015 Seat Mii (gasoline engine, approx 58,914 KM mileage). Not too long ago, my airbag warning light came on and a fault was stored. My guess is that it has something to do with an Airbag system failure. I'm a bit hesitant to bring it to the mechanic right away due to a not-so-great past experience. Have any of you faced a similar problem? How did you manage it & can you recommend a trusted mechanic? Would love to get your experiences and advice. Cheers!

Hey there, I know that feeling, had a similar issue with my 2012 Seat Ibiza. My airbag system warning light came on out of the blue. Ignored it for a couple of days thinking it might just be a glitch, but then it kept coming on. Took it to my local garage, and after running diagnostics, they found it was a defective Airbag control module – a component that controls all the functions of the airbags. Turns out, it's pretty important. No need for you to panic though, it was just standard car stuff. Although driving around with a potentially faulty Airbag system is far from ideal, so I would recommend not putting it off for too long. Sorry, I don't know any mechanics in your area, but it's all pretty standard stuff, so any decent garage should handle it. Just make sure they run full diagnostics to identify the exact cause before they start swapping out parts. All the best!

Hey! Thanks for taking the time to reply. Sounds like my Seat Mii could be dealing with a similar issue to your Ibiza. Got a bit freaked out by that airbag light, not gonna lie! Do you recall how much that control module replacement set you back? And, any problems with your car since the fix? Happy for any additional info you can provide. Cheers!

Hey! No worries at all, happy to help. As for your first question, you're in luck! Getting the Airbag control module sorted didn't cost me a penny. Yup, you read that right - nada, zilch, zero. They figured out the module was defective and fixed it up nicely. And it was all done under warranty, so absolutely no cost to me! Since getting it fixed, my Ibiza has been running smooth as ever. So, let’s say the Airbag system failure saga concluded well. No more creepy light teasing me on my dashboard and a big relief for sure! Just make sure to get her checked sooner rather than later and don't forget to ask about warranties. Fingers crossed you get as lucky as I did! Take care!

What's up That's really reassuring to hear, had quite a shock when I saw that airbag light pop up. Hearing that your control module was under warranty is a big relief, fingers crossed mine's the same deal! Really appreciate you sharing your experience – you've set my mind at ease to a good extent. Think I'll be paying a visit to the garage sooner than I planned. I’m going to push aside that past vile experience with mechanics and get my Mii checked asap. And yeah, thanks for reminding me about the warranty bit. Can't thank you enough for your advice, it's been super helpful. Time to get that troublesome light off my dashboard for good! Cheers and stay safe!
