Seeking Advice on Addressing Multiple Electronic Malfunctions in 2000 Nissan RNessa

General electric malfunction

Park distance control without function

Warning light in the speedometer of the vehicle

Fault stored

Hey folks! I've got a bit of a problem with my 2000 Nissan RNessa, gas engine with about 100k km on it. Recently I've been getting some funky signs like my Park Distance control's gone AWOL, a puzzling general electric malfunction, a store fault popping up, and a persistent warning light on my speedometer panel. I reckon the culprit might be a dud Radar sensor. Is there anyone out there who's had similar gremlins with their ride, and how was your experience handling it at the mechanic's, especially after a less than stellar previous visit? Cheers!

Hey there! I totally feel your pain . Had a similar problem with my 2003 Nissan Stanza not too long ago. My engine light kept popping up and rang all sorts of bells about sensor issues. Turned out, it was indeed a dirty sensor. I knew I was in for a wild ride when I took her down to my local garage for a check, especially after a previous visit was less than stellar. To be honest, it didn't seem like the most serious fix on Earth, but it's definitely the kind of thing you want to nip in the bud. Basically, the techs had to clean the gunk off the sensor and then reset the sensor's code to erase the warning light from my panel. They also ran some tests to make sure everything was back running smooth. Of course, each car's different so you gotta check yours out but hope this gives you a rough idea of what you could be in for. Good luck with it!

Hey! Just reading about your Nissan RNessa plight and man, it sounds like you've got your hands full. Had a similar issue with my old car, although mine wasn't a Nissan. These sensor malfunctions can be pretty pesky! Kinda reminds me of your story,, with your 2003 Nissan Stanza. Quick question, do you remember roughly how much you were set back for the sensor clean-up and reset you mentioned? Do you reckon it was worth it or has anything else shown up since then that sorta makes you think it was just the start of a cascade of issues? Cheers!

Hey! Oh yeah, I remember that fix. Got to say, it didn't really break the bank. They only charged me about 45€ to get that dirty sensor cleaned up. For peace of mind, it was totally worth it. If you see a mechanic straight away, they should handle it without any problem. And to your other point, I can happily say that there weren't any follow-up gremlins creeping out of the woodwork. Ever since that mechanic visit, my 2003 Stanza has been running like a dream, and my radar sensor's been shipshape - no issues whatsoever. So, yeah, I'd say nip it in the bud ASAP, it'll save you a lot of headache down the line. Good luck!

Thanks for sharing your experiences, guys! Ugh, these sensor issues can be such a nightmare. It's a relief to hear that a quick cleanup and reset could solve the problem. And, that price actually sounds pretty reasonable, plus it's great to hear that no other problems have surfaced for you. Based on your advice, I guess I'm gonna try overcoming my past bad experience at the garage and take my RNessa in for a once-over. Not keen on dodging any more warning light goblins. Anyway, your insight has made me feel much more confident about this decision - cheers to both of you and fingers crossed!
