Howdy! Thanks for the heads up. Can't remember offhand when my last throttle body maintenance was, but the last service was when the odometer hit 42303 KM. I think a visit to my local mechanic is due too. Hate that it's gonna be a hit to the wallet, but it's worth it for a smooth ride, right? Will definitely keep you posted. Cheers!
Spot on! No one likes a bumpy ride, eh? And as they say, "You gotta pay to play." In all seriousness, though, it does sound like your throttle valve potentiometer might be playing up like mine did. With the symptoms you've listed and the mileage on your ride, it does point in that direction. Not a 100% guarantee, but I'd certainly put that on my list of suspects if I were to wager a guess. Don't delay, get that beauty to your mechanic and have it looked at. Let's hope it's nothing too serious and your Lexus will be back on the road, running like a dream soon. Waiting for your update! Stay safe and good luck!
Absolutely! "You gotta pay to play" seems to be the order of the day. No point dodging it any longer; I'll have my mechanic take a look at it this week. Fingers crossed, it's nothing too crazy and the ol' girl will be back in fine form soon enough. Appreciate the advice. Will keep you updated. Take care!
Hey. Seems we've had the same dance - had this very problem with my 2012 Lexus IS 350. I'm no mechanic, but I've dealt with a few cars in my time - picked up a thing or two, you know? Anyway, the issue in my car was exactly what you're suspecting - the internal mechanics of the throttle valve turned out to be defective. Took it to my local workshop, and these guys were bang on. They got it sorted, no sweat. The wallet took a hit of 345€, but hey, at least the old girl's purring like a kitten now. If you can, check when your last maintenance was done on the throttle body, and get some more info about any previous similar issues. Might help me give you a more detailed solution. Hope that helps. Keep us posted on how you get on.
