Hey there, sounds like a nasty problem indeed! Your story with the A/C really hits home because I've also got the same mean machine, just a bit younger, a 2019 Volvo V90! That's some useful insight there from the last reply. So, going off that, I was curious to know what kind of dent it put in your wallet. Like, can you recall how much you shelled out to get the A/C control unit replaced? And since sorting out your A/C, have you faced any follow-up issues? Always trying to stay ahead of these things! Stay easy!

Hey, You ain't kidding about trying to stay ahead of these things! Alright, let's not beat around the bush, fixing the A/C control unit didn't come cheap, it was a bit of a sting to the old wallet. Ended up shelling out 980 €, which stung a bit, but hey, I'd rather that than sweltering in the car, right? Since getting it fixed though, no troubles at all with the A/C, it's been a piece of cake. And you remember that pesky heat exchanger temperature sensor problem I was dealing with before I went in? They sorted that out too when I saw the mechanic. So while it might hit the pocket hard initially, remember it's more about preserving the longevity of your mean machine, and the comfort of those long drives. Keep cool!

Hi there, Thanks so much for your helpful feedback, s. It's been quite insightful. Kinda dreading that price tag, but, as you said, it's about the comfort and longevity. And at least, I've now got an idea of what's going on. I guess it's better to get it checked out sooner rather than later. Don't really fancy the idea of driving around in a sauna on wheels! I'll be biting the bullet and letting the mechanic have a look. I'll try and post an update once the ordeal is over. Cheers to all the help! Stay breezy, folks!

Hey there, that sounds all too familiar. I drive a 2014 Volvo V60, basically the same model but slightly older. About a year ago, it started giving me a similar headache with warm air coming out of the A/C. These newer Volvo models have a notorious quirk with their air conditioning control units. Definitely not a sensor issue. It was the darn A/C control unit, it had somehow become defective. Turns out, it's like the brain behind the whole heating and cooling system. If it goes off, your A/C starts acting all sorts of weird, just like what you're experiencing. When I took my baby to the garage, they took a good while troubleshooting, thinking it might be something minor - leaky valve, refrigerant level issues, or thermostat - you know, the usual suspects. But all of those checked out fine. In the end, they had to swap out the old unit with a new A/C control unit. It was indeed a serious issue. So, brace yourself for it and don’t worry too much about rushing back to your mechanic, it's pretty common with our models. It's definitely not something you wanna try and fix yourself, that's for sure. Good luck! Fingers crossed for you.
