Howdy! I've been having some frustrating issues with the ABS/DSC system on my 2019 Kia Bongo as well. It feels like spinning the wheels in mud sometimes when I try to break, not to mention the scary brake pedal response delay. Just like you, that darn ABS warning light just won't go off on my dashboard. Your experience sounds pretty much like mine, and your mechanic's diagnosis makes a lot of sense! I also suspected an issue related to the brake lines, but considering the pressure sensor error you pointed out, I feel marginally better knowing I'm not the only one who has been in this pickle. Just out of curiosity, do you remember the ballpark figure of what you had to fork out for the repair? And has any other related issue emerged since the repair? Cheers!
Hey there, comrade in auto troubles! Definitely feels like we've been on the same bumpy road with our Kia Bongos' ABS/DSC systems. What are the odds, right? As for costs, the repair didn't exactly leave my wallet in tears. I ended up shelling out about 90.00 € to get the brake system correctly bled. It wasn't too bad considering the peace of mind it brought - haven't had any problems with my brakes since then. And yes, that puzzling signal error from the pressure sensor on the brake booster? Sorted it all out during my last visit to the mechanic - it's been smooth sailing (or should I say driving?) since! Fingers crossed it stays that way. Hope your saga with the brakes wraps up happily and soon! Keep us posted!
Hey again! Yeah, what are the odds indeed? It's strange, but also kind of reassuring knowing someone else has had the same issues as me. About the costs, 90.00 € sounds pretty damn reasonable! I was losing sleep over imagining a huge repair bill. Very glad to hear your brakes have been behaving since the fix. That's a massive load off my mind. I'll definitely share how it goes once my Bongo is in and out of the garage. Here's hoping my mechanic experience fares better this time. Thanks for all your advice and support, really appreicate it!
Hey there, sounds a bit like something I experienced on my 2016 Kia Soul a while back. ABS light on, brake pedal feeling all odd, and my braking system felt like a mess. Based on my non-expert, hands-on experience, it indeed seems like the braking system was incorrectly bled, as you supposed. I remember my mechanic specifically mentioning air getting trapped in the brake line, which caused the spongy feeling in the pedal and less responsive brakes. He explained to me how critical it is to bleed the brakes correctly to get all that air out and restore the correct brake fluid pressure. My mechanic took care of it, and everything's been running stabile since then, so I think you are in the right direction figuring it's a brake system issue. It sounds serious because it's directly connected to braking, but it's a quite common problem and with a good mechanic should be resolved without much fuss. As for picking a good mechanic, look for a place that has good reviews, even better if they specialize in Kia vehicles. Also, a well-explained fault diagnosis is something you wanna hear from them; if they can't explain in detail what's going on, you might want to consider finding another garage. Hope that helps! Good luck sorting it out.
