Hey! Thanks for sharing your insights. I can see the resemblance in our issues. Sounds like I should start hunting for a skilled mechanic who knows his way around Mazdas as you suggested. Out of curiosity, do you still remember how much you forked out for the sensor replacement? And, have there been any similar issues that have surfaced since the repair, or has it been smooth sailing? Hoping for a quick fix. Fingers crossed! Stay safe on the roads.
Hey! Yep, still remember the cost. I ended up parting with 260.00 € for the good old ABS sensor repair. I reckon its a small price to pay considering the peace of mind you get knowing your ride is safe and sound, don't you agree? Good news is, since the repair, there's been no drama with that part at all. The mechanic did a pretty solid job and resolved the wheel speed sensor (ABS sensor) issue. Been smooth sailing. Just like new, I'd say! So go get the little bugger fixed, keep it rolling! Remember, better safe than sorry. Cheers! Safe driving.
Hey! Great, that's the sort of peace of mind I'm aiming for. €260 doesn't sound too bad if it solves the whole issue permanently. That "like new" feeling is something I'm really looking forward to. I appreciate your insights and sharing your experience. You've put my mind at ease somewhat about this whole ABS sensor business. Now, I'm off to find a darn good mechanic. Drive safe out there and take care. Cheers!
Hey there, It so happens that I drive a 2005 Mazda3 and experienced a similar thing as you did a while back. The ABS light came on and likewise, my speedometer started acting up. Turned out, it was indeed a faulty wheel speed sensor, also known as the ABS sensor. I must say, this wasn't a minor issue. Believe me, my car wasn't behaving right until it was resolved. Every single aspect of driving was affected from stability to braking. ABS sensor basically tells your car how fast the wheels are spinning. When it's not functioning correctly, the ABS system gets faulty data and acts up accordingly. My mechanic from my local garage fixed it up and replaced the faulty sensor. It was straight-forward enough, though the trouble was in diagnosing where exactly the problem lay within the ABS system. So, the problem is a bit complex to diagnose but not that hard to fix actually. No need to get too worried. I'd recommend you find a trustworthy mechanic that knows his way around Mazdas in particular, as all cars have their little quirks. Best of luck with it! Drive safe.
