Hey there! Thanks for the quick reply. Well, I've noticed a bit of squeaky noise lately and maybe a slight decline in the braking performance, but I wasn't sure if those were just my hunches. I've already put around 128,391 KM on this baby, and the last time it had a full service was a few months back. Honestly, I would say I'm somewhat heavy-footed on the brakes so that might be contributing to the issue too. Guess a trip to the mechanic might indeed be in order! Really hope it won't cost an arm and a leg though. Cheers!
Hey! No problem at all. Well, the squeaky noise and change in braking performance pretty much confirm it. You might indeed have worn out brakes. Given your car's mileage and your heavy-footedness on the brakes, it's not unlikely. I get it, we all love a bit of spirited driving now and then! Anyway, I'd suggest you to get those brakes checked out as soon as possible. Remember, it's better to be safe than sorry, especially with the important safety systems in your car! Stick with genuine parts when you get them replaced, as they provide the best performance. About the expense part - I hear ya! But, it can really vary depending on where you live and the garage you head to. Mine cost around 480 Euro for my 2022 Ateca, but I've heard any price from 400 to 600 Euro depending on the region and garage. Just keep in mind that cheaper isn't always better - get quality work done. Stay safe!
Hey, thanks a ton! You’re a lifesaver. I’ve decided to take your advice to heart and I'll get the brakes checked out immediately. I'm going to bite the bullet, safety does come first, right? Plus, I get the message about not skimping on the cost - quality parts and labor all the way! Guess I gotta start preparing for a little hit on my wallet. Thanks again for your advice and sharing your experience. Stay safe too, cheers!
Hey! I had something similar with my 2022 Seat Ateca. I'd grade myself somewhere between low and some experience level with cars. Basically, a warning light popped up on the dash, and after a trip to my local mechanic, found out the brakes were indeed worn out! Ended up shelling out about 480 Euro to get it all sorted. It was a bit expensive, but it did solve the issue. Just curious though, have you noticed any change in your braking performance or any strange noises? Sometimes those are also indicators of worn brakes. Providing the mileage and how heavy footed you are on the brakes can also help diagnose the problem better. Cheers!
