Hey there! Reading about your ordeal, I can relate to it. Went through a similar phase with my Renault Arkana last summer. Yup, the shaky engine, mysterious lights and powerless ride; a bummer, isn't it? But hey, based on my experience, your suspect might be spot on! My mechanic also diagnosed the tank ventilation system fault and changing the hoses did the trick. Just curious though, do you remember how much you had to pay for the whole hose replacement thing? And has anything else popped up since the fix?
Hey! Yeah, it was quite a dance my engine was doing too, just like yours! Spot-on about the tank ventilation system. Swapping those faulty hoses out made all the difference - it's been like cruising on a brand new motor since then. As for the damage to my wallet, I shelled out about 175€ for the hoses fix-up. Not the cheapest lesson, I tell ya, but a necessary one for sure. All smooth sailing (or driving, should I say!) since then, thankfully. Hope it stays that way. Good luck with getting yours fixed up too, bud!
Thanks for the reassurance! Really had me in knots thinking about it. Good to know my hunch wasn't far off and it's something that can be fixed. The issue with the tank ventilation system seems to be a common thread here, so that's going to be my starting point. And hey, €175 isn't a small change but way better than having a twitchy ride. Thanks for the heads up - will start looking for a new, more reliable workshop. Appreciate your help, guys! Cheers and here's hoping to smoother rides too!
Hey there! Had myself a glitchy situation with my 2020 Renault Capture, oh man, engine shaking like it was dancing the cha-cha, just like yours. The good old check engine light was my unwanted guest too! Had me all riled up. You know, your hunch about the tank ventilation system ain't wrong at all. Had this similar issue with mine. My mechanic traced it back to the faulty hoses in that system. Those pesky things were causing the engine to run lean, hence the stalling and power loss. Getting 'em replaced was the solution and solved all the problems right up. Hope this helps and you'll get it sorted soon. Good luck!
