Seeking Advice on 2022 Nissan Note's Transmission Issues and Possible Faulty Oil Pressure

Grinding noise when shifting gears

Transmission slips/shifts erratically

Whining or grinding noises

Hey everyone, I'm dealing with a weird issue on my 2022 Nissan Note with a gas engine. Lately, it's been having some transmission troubles. It slips and shifts really strangely, there's a grinding sound when shifting gears, and even some whining and grinding noises that are definitely out of the ordinary. My guess is this could be due to faulty transmission oil pressure. Anyone ever come across something like this? I'd love to hear some tips and experiences, especially how you got it sorted out at your workshop. Appreciate any advice you got!

Hey there! I had a similar situation with my 2020 Nissan Micra, petrol engine. No guru, but got some experience with tinkering around, you know? Actually, the culprit turned out to be low transmission oil levels, same as I'm suspecting in your case. Headed over to my local workshop and they were great. Managed to get the oil levels back up and it only set me back around 365 Euro. No more weird noises or shifting troubles since then. Though, can't be too sure without more info. Are you noticing any leaks under your car or any other warning signs? Helps to have the full picture. Good luck!

Hey ''! Interesting that you had a similar issue with your Micra. Kinda relieved I'm not the only one here. Just cleared it last week, hit 120,791 km, no service or warning lights flashing though. Haven't noticed any obvious leaks, but honestly, haven't been looking out for that either. You've given me something to look into this weekend. I suppose it's off to the workshop for a whatever-it-takes dig at the transmission oil issue. Thanks for giving your two pennies, appreciate it!

Hello again! Yeah, cars can be tricky sometimes. Your Note made it quite a distance though, kudos! No warning lights make it a bit puzzling, but don't worry, we've got this. Still sticking to my gut about the transmission oil - could be a low level or even degraded quality. It's good that you're not spotting any leaks, but it doesn't entirely mean it's not the oil. Sometimes, the leak can be so minor, it's almost impossible to spot without a thorough check. So yeah, definitely recommend hunting out your local workshop or who's good with cars. Get a thorough look at the oil levels and maybe ask them to check the transmission filter too while you're at it. Could be clogged up, who knows? Just remember, don't push it too long. The longer it runs in that state, the more damage it could cause. Only takes a bit of time and not something you want to skimp on. Keep us updated after your workshop visit, yeah? Cheers!

Hey, good shout there! I guess it's always better safe than sorry. I've definitely taken what you've said to heart. Going to haul the Note down to my local workshop this weekend for that much-needed check on the transmission oil levels and filter. Lucky for me, I've got a pretty trustworthy mechanic who won't mind doing a thorough job. And you're right — whatever this is, better to handle it sooner than later to avoid a worse-case-scenario-type of deal. Will let y'all know how it goes once I'm back. Wish me luck and thanks again for the advice! Cheers!
