Hey, cheers for the quick response! Sounds like you nailed the exact problem I'm struggling with here. Definitely can't ignore when that beastly check engine light flickers. I'm glad to hear that accelerator pedal module was the culprit in your case. I reckon I'll be checking mine too. Could you jog your memory a bit and give me a rough estimate of the cost you shelled out to get it fixed? And has anything else popped up since you got that sorted, or has she been running smooth ever since? Really appreciate your help!
Hey, no worries! Happy to help. For the accelerator pedal module defect, it set me back about 205€ at the neighborhood garage, pretty fair in my view considering how smoothly my Stinger runs since then. Oh, and funny you should ask - I did have that Throttle valve error you were suspecting earlier. Got that looked at by the same mech and thankfully, it's all sorted too. Costs aside, the peace of mind you get is priceless. She's been purring like a kitten ever since. Hope you can sort yours out soon enough without burning a hole in your pocket. Keep me posted!
Good on you! The prices sound pretty decent, much less headache than I was expecting. Your experience with the throttle valve error does boost my confidence. I'm gonna give your boys a visit soon, hopefully, they can work their magic on my Kia Ceed as they did on your Stinger. Thanks a ton for your help, fingers crossed it gets sorted without costing me an arm and a leg. I'll surely keep you posted about how it goes. Cheers!
Hey, sounds like you're having a rough time there. I can relate to it, have a 2019 Kia Stinger and encountered somewhat similar symptoms recently. The unsteady engine running, awful fuel economy, and jerking during acceleration, I felt it all. Did a bit of digging and found out that the defect was in my accelerator pedal module. Basically, the signal wasn't being sent right to the engine control unit, which got my engine run in harsh conditions. Now, not saying that's exactly your case but sounds very similar. The worst part was it could have led to something serious if ignored. Can't ignore a check engine light flashing now, can I? Got it fixed at my local garage. These guys are ace at what they do, so I'd vouch for them any day. Hoping they'd be able to get you sorted as well. Hang in there and get that checked.
