Seeking Advice on 2021 Seat Tarraco's ABS/DSC System Issues & Airbag Warning Light with Possible Steering Angle Sensor Communication Problem

ABS/DSC system is not working

Fault stored

Airbag warning light

Hey folks, I have a 2021 Seat Tarraco with a Gasoline engine acting up lately. Noticed the ABS/DSC system is on the fritz, there's an airbag warning light and a fault stored. My hunch is it might be an issue with the steering angle sensor communication but I need your expert opinions and advice. Have any of you had the same problem? And if so, how did your workshop resolve it? I'd appreciate any help you can give. Thanks!

Hey, I had the same problem with my 2019 Seat Ateca, pretty similar model. I consider myself to have some experience with cars. Took it to my local garage, they opened it up and sorted everything out. Found a defective cable connection to a sensor. It was a €155 fix. I gotta ask, have you had any other issues or work done on your Tarraco recently? More details would definitely help to figure out any additional related problems. Hope this helps a bit!

Hey, it's been a bit of a roller coaster to be honest. I haven't noticed any other specific problems, but I did get it serviced at 136,385 km. Perhaps something to do with the last service? Just guessing now. The Tarraco has been reliable until this ABS/DSC issue popped up. Appreciate your help! Could this be a common issue with these models? Thanks again!

Hey again! So based on what you're saying, it could be related to your last service, can't rule that out. But these ABS/DSC issues do seem to crop up in Seat models like ours sometimes, judging from what I've read in other forums. Probably something to do with how the systems are wired up in these models, not too sure though. Would recommend getting a proper diagnostic done from an ECC (Electronic Control Center) or your dealership to pinpoint the issue. The cost can vary depending on where you go, but it'll help you find the root cause rather than guessing. Remember, safety first! Especially when it comes to the ABS/DSC system and the airbags. These are crucial for your safety on the road. Hope this sends you in the right direction. Stay safe & let us know what you find out, yeah? Cheers!

Hey, you're absolutely right. Safety first, always! Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I'll get it to an ECC or my dealership as you suggested and get a proper diagnostic done. Crossing my fingers it won't be too costly. I'll be sure to update you and the rest here with what I find out. This community has been a great help. Stay safe and chat soon. Cheers!
