Hey, sorry to hear about the trouble with your Arkana. Been there with my old Renault too, quite vexing isn't it? I reckon the back pressure sensor being wonky could be the culprit, given that it seemed to be in's case. Curious though, do you happen to recall how much you forked out for that DPF clean and sensor replacement,? And did anything else crop up down the line or has it all been smooth sailing since then? Cheers!
Hey there. No worries at all, more than happy to share. Yeah, that exhaust back pressure sensor was dodgy alright, thankfully my mechanic sorted that part out, no more issues since it got fixed, touch wood! Now, speaking of the DPF, that one was indeed quite a pickle. It was severely overloaded and needed fixing ASAP. The cost was a bit up there since it had reached a critical state - ended up setting me back around 1325€. Mind you, that was a thorough clean-up job rather than a simple quick fix, included labor, parts, all that jazz. You get what you pay for though, and it's been running like a beaut ever since. No nasty surprises post-fix, thankfully! Just a handy tip - look for a mechanic who's really clued up on Renault hybrids, it made all the difference for me. Good luck with your Arkana!
Hey, really appreciate the inputs folks! Yeah, it is indeed quite vexing,! The sluggish go-kart analogy,, is spot on, feels just like that at the moment. Glad to hear both of you found reliable fixes. Dropping 1325€, though a bit high, seems like a necessary evil for the long run. After all, it's all about saving the engine from further damage, right? I'll definitely take your advice and find a mechanic specialized in Renault hybrids. I hope my Arkana will also run like a beauty post-fix. Cheers for the insights, really helpful. Wishing you both smooth and trouble-free rides with your Renaults!
Hey there, I totally feel you. I have a 2018 Renault Kadjar and a while back it was going through something similar. Engine light came on and it was just driving awful, felt like a really sluggish go-kart if you know what I mean. And yeah, it was a DPF issue too. My mechanic found out that my DPF was severely overloaded. It was a pretty dire situation to be honest, because a clogged DPF can really damage the engine if not dealt with in time. So yes, it was indeed a pretty big issue. I remember the mechanic explaining the whole process - the DPF was getting removed, thoroughly cleaned, and then put back. The exhaust back pressure sensor you mentioned could indeed be the reason - they had to replace mine, so you're on the right track. My mechanic did a fantastic job, efficient and professional. Shame I can't share his contact here, but all I'd say is just look for someone who specializes in Renault hybrids. Those guys would definitely know their stuff. Best of luck to you!
