Hey there, Thanks for sharing your experience with your Renault Clio, sounds exactly like what I'm dealing with right now. It's a bit comforting to hear it could be a relatively straightforward fix of the cable connection on the selector lever. By the way, do you recall roughly how much you ended up forking over for the diagnosis and fix? Been hit with a few hefty repair bills recently, just trying to brace myself for what's coming. And has anything related popped up or given you grief since the repair? Touch wood, I'm hoping this is an isolated incident for both of us! Cheers!
Hey there, Great to hear my previous experience might help you! Your situation sounds so similar to mine that I've got a good feeling the problem could be the same. And when it comes to brace yourself for the bill... I hope you're ready. It did set me back a bit, the cost ended up being 365€. That was for the diagnosis and replacing the damaged cable connection on the selector lever. I know, it can be a punch in the gut, these unexpected repairs, but hey, cheaper than a new car right? Since they sorted it out though, I've had no drama! The glitch in the matrix was definitely fixed once they sorted out the selector lever issue. So fingers crossed, once your ride's been to the doc, it'll be back to cruising smoothly just like mine. Here's hoping everything goes well, keep us posted! Cheers!
Hey, Thanks for the quick response and the helpful info, really put my mind at ease somewhat. I mean, yeah, the 365€ does sting a bit but like you said, cheaper than a new car! No amount of hoping it wouldn't be an expensive fix could ever forestall the inevitable. As long as it fixes the problem and gets my baby back on the road smoothly, I can cope with it. Besides, other than the transmission problem, I've had a really great run with this Renault. You've given me loads of valuable insight, now I feel more prepared for my next rendezvous with the mechanic. I'm going to schedule an appointment for the upcoming week. And I'll definitely keep you posted on how it pans out! Always good when there's a bit of light at the end of the garage, eh? Cheers!
Hey, I had a pretty similar issue with my 2018 Renault Clio not too long ago. Was getting all sorts of weird signals and my transmission wasn't playing nice either. Turns out it was indeed a fault with the transmission selector lever. In my case, the cable connection on the selector lever was damaged. Getting it diagnosed was a bit of a kerfuffle - had a couple of trips to the garage before they figured it out. Thought initially I was looking at a real serious problem, but thankfully it wasn't that as ominous as I thought. They had to replace the entire cable connection. Once that was done, it was smooth sailing. Ran like a dream post-fix. So, yeah, if you're having similar symptoms, it could well be the cable connection on your selector lever too. Cheers, and good luck sorting it out!
