Seeking Advice on 2021 Lexus UX Hybrid AC Issues and Potential Compressor Problems

Air conditioning blows warm air

Hey! I've got a 2021 Lexus UX Hybrid that's been acting up lately. The AC's blowing warm air and I suspect the compressor might be switching off. Has anyone else experienced this issue? How was it resolved by your local workshop? Any tips or info would be really appreciated.

Hey there! Sounds like a pretty similar issue I had with my 2019 Lexus RX Hybrid. I'd say I have some working knowledge of cars, but I'm by no means an expert. In my case, they found that the AC compressor was indeed malfunctioning. I brought it to my trusted workshop and fix wasn't cheap, set me back by about 625 Euro. They said there might be a defective component causing the switch-off. But hey, every car is a world right? Could you provide more details about your vehicle? Stuff like mileage, region, any previous issues might help in coming up with a more accurate diagnosis.

Hey there! Thanks for the info, sounds like a bit of a hefty bill but if it fixes the problem then it's worth it. My UX has about 172,904 KM on the clock. I can't think of any previous issues apart from the regular servicing. The last service was about a month ago so this AC problem has come as a surprise. I'm in a pretty warm region, keep in mind. So AC is crucial here. No other strange noises or anything, just the AC blowing warm air which isn't ideal in this heat.

Hey! Thanks for the extra details. You've got quite a few miles on your Lexus UX Hybrid, haven't you? The warm region might also have an impact on your AC, given the constant demand. Like I said, our issues sound pretty similar, so I'd think there's a decent chance it's the compressor. There could be other components acting up, though, it really depends on your car. In my case, the AC's issues didn't come with any warning signs either. Only noticeable thing was the AC simply started blowing warmer and warmer air, really annoying with the summer heat. My advice is to not wait too long to get this inspected. Maybe the compressed gas needs recharging or some electrical issue is turning the compressor off (like with mine). Remember my fix wasn't exactly cheap, around 625 Euro, so might be good to prepare for that. Best of luck, hope your AC gets back to normal soon!

Hey! Really appreciate your insights. Looks like a trip to the workshop is indeed in order for my Lexus. Like you said, the constant tread on the AC due to the heat could be a factor. It's the sudden nature of the problem that took me by surprise. I'm now bracing myself for that 625 Euro bill, best to be prepared, I guess. But the bottom line is getting the AC back in shape, so it's an investment I'm willing to make. Will get my car inspected ASAP. Fingers crossed the fix isn't something too complicated. Again, thanks a bunch for your help!
