Hey! Thanks for the insight. Still dealing with that black cloud puffing from my Arkana. I've had her for nearly 181k km and it was last serviced not that long ago. I haven't done much except the standard check-ups; oil change, filters, belts, that sort of stuff. I did try cleaning the throttle body thinking it might aid, but nada. Could the issue be catalytic converter-related? Seeing the black smoke and the ongoing engine light, I'm pretty sure it's something more than just an error message. Any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks again!
Hey! Sounds like you're having a tough time with the Arkana, we've all been there. Now about the catalytic converter, it might be a potential culprit. If it gets blocked or damaged, it can lead to all kinds of engine problems - from black exhaust smoke to high fuel consumption and poor acceleration. I faced something similar with my Kadjar and it turned out to be the catalytic converter, what a headache! But before jumping into conclusions, let's not rule out other possibilities. Firstly, a faulty oxygen sensor can also cause engine light problems. It helps to regulate the air-fuel mixture for optimal emission control, so it's worth checking out. Secondly, with 181k km on the clock, you might be having trouble with the Mass Air Flow sensor too. It measures the amount of air entering the engine, quite vital for the whole combustion thing. Lastly, I'd also suggest checking the fuel pressure regulator, especially given your hunch about the fuel injection pressure. I'm no mechanic but these could be places to start looking. Remember, as much as we love DIY car projects, don't hesitate to take her to a professional if things seem out of your league. Hope things turn out alright for you and your Arkana! Keep us updated. Cheers!
Cheers for the heap of ideas! It's definitely given me an idea of where else to look. I haven't thought to check the oxygen sensor, the Mass Air Flow Sensor, or the fuel pressure regulator. Yup, it's gonna be a busy weekend. I guess, all things considered, it's a good idea to head to my mechanic if nothing seems to fix the problem. I haven't handled any serious engine work up until now, and I wouldn't want to mess it further. Appreciate your support and advice. I'll keep you posted on what I find out. Thanks again!
Hey, sounds like a messy time you're having with your 2020 Arkana. Had a very similar situation with my 2018 Renault Kadjar a while back. I'm no car guru, just got a bit of hands-on experience. Turns out, I got an error message after I changed the fuel filter on the Kadjar. I decided to take it to my local garage. Those guys are pretty good with all this stuff. They plugged it into their system, and after a bit of tinkering, they cleared the error for 45 euro. Sorted out the problem just like that. However, your problem could be different. If you could shed a little more light on your vehicle's specific situation, that'd help. Let us know what you've tried so far, and anything else that might seem relevant. Cheers!
