Seeking Advice on 2019 Renault Arkana Navigation System Issues and Possible Screen Failure Solutions

Navigationssystem is not working

Hey fellow car enthusiasts, I'm having a bit of a situation with my 2019 Renault Arkana that runs on gasoline. Recently, my navigation system has been acting up and I'm leaning towards a screen failure. Have any of you experienced a similar issue and how did your mechanic fix it? Could use all the tips and shared experiences I can get. Cheers!

Hey there, I'm not exactly a pro, just a guy with some car experience, but I had a similar issue with my 2017 Renault Megane. My display went haywire as well. My mechanic at my local workshop ended up taking care of it. They had to replace the entire unit, unfortunately. It cost me a cool €725 as the display was damaged. But hey, each car can be a little different. Can you share more about your Arkana? What are its current mileage and condition? Have you experienced any other issues with the electronics recently? Let's dig into this a bit more.

Hey, thanks for sharing your experience. To answer your questions, my Arkana's odometer is sitting at 195618 km currently. The last service was recently, so it's been pretty well maintained. I'm not seeing any other electronic issues aside from the navigation system problem. Everything else is still ticking alright as far as I can tell. Let's figure this puzzle out!

Hey! Good to hear your Arkana's been well-maintained! With that mileage, it's done some road, but Renault engines usually hold up pretty well. My Megane also had about the same run when that display went off. I'll tell you, it drove me nuts at first, but it turned out to be less scary than it first seemed. First off, did you notice anything weird with your system before it started acting up? Like, any freezing, graphics issues, or system errors? In my case, these signs were there, but I didn't really take them seriously till it got well... unmanageable. My mechanic insisted on doing a full system diagnostic check before anything else. That helped to pinpoint the exact source of the problem and saved me from potentially messing around with things that weren't actually problematic. So, my advice would be to get a full diagnostic test at a reliable service center if you haven't done it yet. It might help you figure out whether it's just the screen or something more. Fingers crossed it's not as severe as a total display replacement, but if it is, I'd recommend hunting for a pre-owned navigation unit, it could save you some cash if you don't mind second-hand stuff. Keep us in the loop! Let's get this thing solved!

Hey! I genuinely appreciate your advice. As it happens, I did notice the responsiveness of the system decreasing, but I guess I was in denial about it escalating to this point. It seems I was wrong to overlook those signs. I'll definitely follow your advice and book a diagnostic check ASAP. And I hope it doesn't come to it, but if we are looking at a display replacement, I'm certainly open to a pre-owned unit. I'll keep you posted on the progress. Thanks a ton! Cheers!
