Hey, thanks for the insight. Guess I'll have the techs sort out that anti-theft system issue and check the battery as well. You said you had a similar glitch a while ago - I'm curious, do you remember how much was the damage to your wallet for that fix? Also, did you run into any more issues post that?

Hey, happy to help! Fixing the anti-theft alarm system was kind of a pinch, set me back by about 45 quid. The tech guys got the optical locking to stop after they re-coded the alarm system. So, no more of that annoying glitch since then! On the battery side, you might want to brace yourself, it can be a bit more costly if a replacement is needed. No other issues after the alarm fix though, everything's been running smooth. Hope your fix goes just as well!

Bless you and your advice. Sounds like I need to get my ride to the garage and deal with these gremlins. 45 quid for the anti-theft alarm isn't too bad, but I'm not looking forward to the potential cost of a new battery. Still, better safe than sorry, right? Fingers crossed that mine runs just as smooth post fix. Cheers for all your help!

Hey, sounds like a real bummer. I've got a 2016 Renault Kadjar, so pretty close to your model. Had a similar issue not too long ago. My alarm system kept triggering the optical lock and it turned out to be a coded issue with the Anti-theft system. From what I remember, the tech dudes had to run a broad diagnostic test and then reconfigure the alarm system to solve the problem. Seems this isn't an uncommon issue with some Renaults. As for the weak battery on start-up, could just be your battery's life cycle coming to an end. Usually starts acting up after a few years and several thousand kilometers. Good luck with the fix and stay safe.
